For those of you who already got scholarships. Were you notified Via email followed by snail mail similar to the acceptance process? Or strictly snail mail/email?

Email notifying you of scholarship (amount undisclosed)---> snail mail w/ amount disclosed.Gamecock227 wrote:For those of you who already got scholarships. Were you notified Via email followed by snail mail similar to the acceptance process? Or strictly snail mail/email?

Re: LSU 2011
Well today I got the email stating I was awarded some money, same as everyone else letter in mail will outline stipulations. The admissions office at LSU has been extremely helpful on visits, also I was coached to write a scholarship statement it feels nice to have a school like this pay off!

Yeah. I asked about that a while ago. It would help with the roommate search, that's for sure.Gamecock227 wrote:Does anyone want to create a group on Facebook yet, or If I create a group is anyone going to join it lol?

The good news is that if you fall below the top 25%, you don't lose all of your scholarship, it simply goes down to the next level. If you e-mail them, they can give you the full scholarship breakdown. Still scary, of course, but not nearly as scary.

Mailed entire seat deposit check today.
I wonder how deeply they look into those immunization forms if I cite personal and religious reasons for not getting all of the immunizations.

LSU was nice to make deposit 1 small enough to pay and still keep options open.
I thought I read immunizations are required by April 16th but that doesn't make sense bc it's before 2nd deposit 5/1.
As far as stating why you didnt get vaccines. With all the studies showing possible links to autism etc due to vaccinations I think you could easily draw something up saying why you didn't have them done. Religious reasons are always a good route too, schools don't wanna
Stir someone up by accusing them of falsifying religious reasons for doing certain things.

Is it normal to be in review for a couple of months? I've been IR since 1/27. Any ideas on what is taking so long?

Re: LSU 2011
I mailed in my deposit (full $500) so I will be attending LSU unless something great happen with Tulane who haven't even decided upon me yet.
I also received 3464 or so per year on top of in-state tuition so my expenses won't be as high as some. I will be attending Scholarship Dinner but they say it's only for 1? I will have my finance attend Visiting Day is it true only 1 can attend Dinner?
Also, I didn't receive the Federal Financial email, what was that about?

I guess now would be a good chance for somebody from Baton Rouge or that has been there alot to maybe give us some info on the city itself, where to live, where the social scene is, where NOT to live, and other information that could be fit.

well i went to undergrad at lsu and has just been accepted to the law school as well. There a lots of nice places to live and you can get a decent apartment for 600 or even cheaper but remember, you get what you pay for. If you do not want to live with a bunch of noise and undergrad students then dont live in the apartments northgate (such as sterling university housing, the venue, and campus crossing). besides that there are plenty of options near campus and farther away.

I'm in the same boat..."in review" just doesn't seem to mean the same thing at LSU as at other schools.sceva31st wrote:Is it normal to be in review for a couple of months? I've been IR since 1/27. Any ideas on what is taking so long?
