Q for all you getting full rides to iu, what are your lsat scores and gpa's? I just took the lsat and not applying till next year but am wondering if I should take it again for a higher score.
Thanks, and good luck all!

Right now I'm being lazy and don't want to go through the papers, so does Indiana have an admitted students open house date(s) set?

I'm surprised as well. I was accepted at uiuc with 3/4 tuition scholly. I'm guessing it's because of some C&F issues.justadude55 wrote:surprising! according to this topic, people with your #'s got full rides!CrimLaw300 wrote:Waitlisted here...

does anyone know from experience how much IU usually saves for December applicants? I'm going to check LSN from last year but I really hope some of these 120k scholarships are available as it seems anyone with a 167 or above is getting one, regardless of GPA.

Shhh, don't tell my other schools, but my $120K from IU-B will be going back into the pot eventually. I am fairly (99.9%) sure I won't be attending, so someone else will get my money.Sandro777 wrote:does anyone know from experience how much IU usually saves for December applicants? Thats what I hope ends up happening. I'm sure that many people who got the 105/120ks wont end up at IUb so hopefully they arent too stingy going forward.rinkrat19 wrote:Shhh, don't tell my other schools, but my $120K from IU-B will be going back into the pot eventually. Well, I'm sure they anticipate a certain number of people not accepting when they give the scholarships, so its not like they'll find themselves suddenly flush with excess money. They probably budgeted presuming a percentage of rejection.Sandro777 wrote:Thats what I hope ends up happening. Definitely. 167/2.5 URM. Hopefully they will bite. LSP says I have a decent shot, as unpredictable as it is, but I figured I'd send an app anyway. Worst case scenario I lose my $12.TommyK wrote:Welcome to the fray. Extreme splitter? You came to the right place.cowgirl_bebop wrote:I just decided to apply today. I know, Im late. IU is notorious for accepting late into sessions. I myself didn't apply until February 24. I've known people who applied and were admitted as late as July. Obviously, the better the numbers, the more flexible.cowgirl_bebop wrote:Definitely. 167/2.5 URM. Hopefully they will bite. Good to know. I have a fee-waiver for them and could have sworn I had sent in an app. I think I am going to knock out the app tonight and get it in. It seems IUB is generous about handing out nice schollys.danquayle wrote:IU is notorious for accepting late into sessions. I myself didn't apply until February 24. Re: IU Bloomington Class of 2014
They are making a really aggressive push at raising the median LSAT. An extremely aggresive push if they are taking people with low GPAs and giving full/120k. I think they realized that the strategy they used for our class was not going to raise the median LSATpereira6 wrote:I really apologize if I sound too skeptical, but I never thought schools would pay big $$$ for splitters..is there anything about your apps that stands out as unusual? URM?
I'm only asking because I'm tremendously curious about how the application process works, and what IUB is going for here.
They will all go up, and they will keep going up. Any law school that has some sort of control or cap on their tuition raises is going to market this factor on their site.Lwoods wrote:Yeah, I just wonder how much higher it can go. At $43k/year OOS, it's already higher than UIUC ($40k) and OSU ($39k). Michigan is $46k/year, but it's in the T14...
For profit schools shouldn't be allowed to take federal funding. This is one of the biggest scams around.CanadianWolf wrote:P.S. The best chance for meaningful reform in the area of student loans & tuition may come as a result of the abuses of "for profit" undergraduate & technical schools which have abused students & government backed student loans.

Re: IU Bloomington Class of 2014
I am 38 and will be applying next year. I am hoping to go to IU law. I am wondering if there are any older students out there recently accepted who are getting any scholarship money? I am confident that I can get in somewhere with my numbers, but I am wondering if they look at age when determining scholarship awards? 165/3.7
Thanks,
Joe

Re: IU Bloomington Class of 2014
Seems to me like splitters are more valuable in a rankings situation than a normal applicant with median gpa/lsat. Law schools are all about massaging their data and higher LSAT scores are much harder to come by than a good GPA.

Re: IU Bloomington Class of 2014
With all the money IU handed out to it's acceptances so far, any chance that the cash dries up for those applying later in the cycle?
Seriously? What are you waiting for?
