On another note. If I get in, my first goal will be to beg Dean Deal to explain to me how the hell the admissions process works. I've never investigated so much about how some process works and after months not have any F'ing idea about it. That is the case here..

I haven't had much rest. And I will be at UVA for the next 2 days. Let me just stick to waiting by the phone.Knock wrote:

I get up in the morning and the first thing I do is check my phone for a missed call. Levels of hope fluctuate throughout the day, but it's aiight.

So, the first reported WL (received) was on 3/29 last year, which corresponds to 3/28 this year. Those 3/28 and 3/29 dates are also the first days of the spring quarter for this year and last year, respectively. Looks like just under two weeks before WL should start slowly filtering in.
This is mainly me thinking out loud, but I figured someone might find it useful.

It's like at Disney World where you think you're at the end of the line and you're so pumped to go on the ride, but then you find out it really just wraps into another room and begins anew.cardinals1989 wrote:So, the first reported WL (received) was on 3/29 last year, which corresponds to 3/28 this year. How do they notify the WL? are they going to write WL on the status page?

Haha, but it's always good to have several options. Unfortunately I have a feeling I'll be getting my long-awaited DLS soon. Seems like everyday they're weeding more and more people out. Tons of cross-admits. These are pretty much the only two schools that have legitimate holistic admissions processes (Boalt a bit more so than Stanford). Also, rivalries tend to be pretty consuming hahacardinals1989 wrote:Amusing moment of the day-Berkeley FB group is discussing SLS.

What makes you say Boalt admissions are "more" holistic than Stanford?fish52 wrote:Tons of cross-admits. Boalt had to make offers to ~850 people to fill its class of ~290, whereas Stanford only made ~380 offers to fill a class of ~180. I would guess that Boalt had to rely more on sheer numbers than Stanford did.

Re: Stanford Law School 2011 Applicants (Pics)
Unusual does not mean holistic, and it gets old to hear people defend Berkeley as such. They reject plenty of people with stellar numbers and great softs (people who get into Stanford, Yale, etc.). They're just very URM heavy and very California heavy in admissions. That's not holistic, it's just different criteria.fish52 wrote:Tons of cross-admits. And to suggest that every other school is not holistic? And then to quantify the holistic-ness by saying that Boalt is "a bit more" holistic than Stanford? Pretty silly post.
Seriously? What are you waiting for?
