Re: NYU 2011
If the outcome is as bleak as just waitlisted or rejected, why do they go through the effort of looking through our file again?eskimo wrote:This was asked on the previous page:dissonance1848 wrote:How bad are the chances of getting in if one has been held, ED -> RD? Or is it basically auto-waitlist?
eskimo wrote:http://nyu.lawschoolnumbers.com/applica ... =3&type=jdBuffalo Bill wrote:For those of us that were deferred from the ED pool to the reg. pool, are there any stats on acceptance rates, general timeline as to when we would generally here etc?
Just wondering like others that have posted on here whether I should take this as a soft rejection (like Columbia deferrals.)
There are the ED applicants on LSN from last cycle. Looks like every ED acceptance was in December, and all the deferred ED applicants got either waitlisted or rejected. Keep in mind that's a small sample size.

Hopefully so, but probably not. I've been stuck on UR since 11/9 without an update. Could mean that I am in the dookie pile. Especially since 11/9 is 9/11 for the dyslexic. Probably a bad omen. Good luck though. =C Spirit has been broken from wait =C I sure would love to go to NYU though.

There are some pretty clear GPA/LSAT floors for that first round of admits. Unfortunately 172/3.6 seems to be one and my LSDAS GPA is below that. How random are the later acceptance rounds?

It would seem my multiple LSATs (2) are going to make me yellow in a sea of green =(bdubs wrote:There are some pretty clear GPA/LSAT floors for that first round of admits. Unfortunately 172/3.6 seems to be one and my LSDAS GPA is below that. How random are the later acceptance rounds?

I GOT IN!!!! After 15 long days of waiting for it in the mail, turns out my post office at school let this one piece of mail slip through the cracks and my forwarding mail. Thank goodness my roommate is an athlete and had to back to school 2 weeks early! Thanks, Linzer and everyone for your support! GL to everyone still waiting!

The rounds aren't generally based on numbers, they're based on submission date.bdubs wrote:There are some pretty clear GPA/LSAT floors for that first round of admits. Unfortunately 172/3.6 seems to be one and my LSDAS GPA is below that. How random are the later acceptance rounds?

Re: NYU 2011
I saw a few scattered admissions from earlier submission dates (Sept-Nov) in Jan/Feb last year. I guess they are so much the exception that it isn't worth fretting over.eskimo wrote:The rounds aren't generally based on numbers, they're based on submission date.bdubs wrote:There are some pretty clear GPA/LSAT floors for that first round of admits. Terribly imposition I know darling but would you mind sending me yours as well? Could use a pick me up as am in the midwest wilds visiting my sister and attempting to come to terms with the prospect of law school in the middle of...well... fields.daisyduke wrote:PM'dchadcor1277 wrote:daisyduke wrote:I GOT IN!!!! Congrats to everyone, and congrats to everyone who survived the long wait between "DL sent" and the letter, I would have expired from frustration.
