I'm not sure if a WUSTL scholarship would really help negotiate with GTown... but I'm not completely sure.. you can always try.ColtsFan88 wrote:Is there any chance of me negotiating for a GTown scholarship? I got in off the waitlist, and I have a sizable sum from WUSTL. Really anything would help, no matter how small.

Just got invited to a group interview. Can anyone fill me in as to how the interview process at Georgetown works? The email was a little ambiguous, it first said that they do group interviews in addition to solo ones, and than that sometimes they do group interviews because they don't have time to do solo's with everyone.

I did a group interview and there were about 12 people in my group. We split in half and discussed what factors should be taken into consideration in admissions decisions, regrouped and reviewed 2 applicant files and each of us said which candidate we would admit and why. It was fun, informative, and going shows that you're interested in gulc so I would recommend going if you have the opportunity.Lawbro wrote:Just got invited to a group interview. Re: Georgetown c/o 2015 Applicants (2011-2012 cycle)
I got waitlisted into the "special group within the preferred waiting list"
does anyone know what my chances of admission are? For those wondering, my numbers weren't the outrageously overqualified type that some people are suggesting this group is for. In fact, my numbers were kinda fringy just leaning towards acceptance if anything.
Anyways, anyone else get this? Anyone know what it means?

When did all of you WLers submit applications? I submitted 12/08, interviewed 1/05, updated 1/06, then silence... I'd say my numbers make me a borderline applicant. Is the long silence a bad thing?

I submitted 12/1, never interviewed (didn't get an invite to do so). At this point, silence is better than a ding or WL. You're still in the running!gravityrides0 wrote:When did all of you WLers submit applications? I submitted 12/08, interviewed 1/05, updated 1/06, then silence... Thanks, I hope so! I keep getting waitlisted at schools I thought I'd get into, so I'm low on morale...SmbdyBringMeSomeHam wrote:I submitted 12/1, never interviewed (didn't get an invite to do so). I submitted 1/09, no interview, complete 1/11, 1/13, and 1/31. (I don't have a nerd file on all this, I swear. *cough*) Not sure about the silence, but I also haven't been keeping up with this forum that much.gravityrides0 wrote:When did all of you WLers submit applications? I concur. The personalized note and the lovely paper and embellishments really made the letter feel special. Charmed me, for sure. Dean Cornblatt knows what he's doing.

Hey, thanks and same to you! We both have a lot of waiting to do

And congrats to everyone who got in this past week-- I think if I got a nicely embellished packet with a personalized note I would blush or something.

Does anyone know if/when GULC sends out an admitted student packet. I already received the nice letter from Andy but I was wondering if they send out a packet full of info a la Vanderbilt.

For those who participated in interviews, would you be so kind as to give me a time frame for how long it took after that to render a decision?

I was in a group interview. updated the day after, and then again the day after that. Generated an ASW password after the second post-interview update, however my letter was dated on the day of the first post-interview update.d.schoenfeld16 wrote:For those who participated in interviews, would you be so kind as to give me a time frame for how long it took after that to render a decision?

Thanks for checking. I was hoping for some reading material but I guess I'll have to make do with their website.eaper wrote:Hmm I think that's all they sent me... but I'll look real quick to double check.cuzinvinny wrote:Does anyone know if/when GULC sends out an admitted student packet. +1, admitted about a month ago and that's the only substantial mailing I've received. Just received a faculty bio guide yesterday, but other than that just emails every now and then.eaper wrote:Hmm I think that's all they sent me... but I'll look real quick to double check.cuzinvinny wrote:Does anyone know if/when GULC sends out an admitted student packet. If you haven't heard form GULC in a while and had an interview, I'd recommend calling them. I received a call from the dean of admissions and it turns out they never heard from my interviewer and thought I had never interviewed.

Is the preferred waitlist at all promising? How likely am I to get off the preferred waitlist?
