At this point in the cycle, many of you will be rejected. That's no secret. However, not all of you. The class isn't full yet.EMZE wrote:So, for all this talk by those in the know and those with experience of not reading too deeply into selective communication, it would seem our efforts to do so yielded TCR. It is. The whole time zone thing is arbitrary and doesn't make a lot of sense sometimes. No worries!justicefishy wrote:....I DO NOT KNOW GEOGRAPHY WHILE PANICKING!blowhard wrote:We're in EST...justicefishy wrote:

Insert pun about the class being half-full? Not the right time?

we have tremendous sleuthing skills, but no "congratulations" on the status checker. would gladly have it the other way around.EMZE wrote:So, for all this talk by those in the know and those with experience of not reading too deeply into selective communication, it would seem our efforts to do so yielded TCR. Look through last years thread at around the same dates. It appears that some applicants who did not receive the email did get in. I didn't do the whole data mining thing on it, but it would maybe seem like it is at least not a death sentence.
As much as I hate to concede that blowhard is right not to worry based on not getting that email, it would appear his attempt to quell anxiety in the thread was not merely a culling song.
I also didn't look around long enough to tell the odds based on getting and not getting the email. But one in particular I found said they submitted day one that the application was available, did not get the email, and it lists them as attending, with a scholarship, UM. I also did not see how long following until the good news was delivered.
Anyone up for tooling around last years thread for some stats? Someone always seems up to the challenge.

i looked at this too, a day or two ago. but i noticed that the first round of rejection letters had been mailed (received 1/10/11) BEFORE the email went out. don't know if that makes a difference or not.EMZE wrote:Look through last years thread at around the same dates. it also seemed like those with no email last year got in before the ones who received it, which is different from this year.

^_^!!! All I do is TLS/gchat, occasionally answer phones and do bitch work, and the engineers are always offering me shots and booze. It's pretty sweet, except for when it's so boring I want to stab my eyes out with a pen.acadec wrote:I want your job.crumpetsandtea wrote:Drinking at work right now.Tiago Splitter wrote:Oooooo great ideaCampagnolo wrote:I think I'm going to drink preemptively on this one.
