It was nice. My interviewer knew a ton of stuff about the specific things I was interested in so it was really helpful.

Has anyone applied in late December or the 1st week of January and has received a JS1 invite?

If so, would you mind sharing your rough stats?

I know many posters here have been emphasizing the need to wait, but it is becoming unbearable (really taking a toll on me) and I plan to quit everything and move to a different country and start afresh.

I'm 173/3.8x. This is my second time applying (after being WL-ed last year).

I need to get a realistic picture of my chances (or if the whole admissons process is being delayed). I would really appreciate any response, and congrats to those who have received a JS1.

Hey! So I submitted my application 1/5 (complete 1/14). I completed my JS1 two weeks back. Still waiting on my JS2. I'll PM you my stats.

I submitted 1/4, completed 1/20, JS1 today. Your stats are better than mine! Did you have JS1 last year when you were wait-listed? Could it be that your JS1 from last year carries over from last year to this year and maybe you will just get a JS2 directly?

Submitted 1/11, complete 1/21. No JS1. 3.7x, 174. Definitely hoping that there will be another JS1 round, but I suspect that if there is, it will be more competitive, since a large number of applications must come in between 1/15 and 2/1. Who knows though -- all we can do is wait. You're definitely not alone!

Late November completion, <25th GPA & =75th LSAT, no JS1

Looks like my best chance is to ride the waitlist till July and blow the June test out of the water. Anyone know how effective this strategy is?

Went complete 9/23, but took the December LSAT and jumped 6 points, which I hope is holding me up. It really has been a long time though--is there really any shot? I see people worried that went complete way more recently.

I went complete mid January, JS1 invite late January, interviewed two weeks ago, still waiting for (hopefully!) a JS2. 174/3.9

Hey, I don't know if this helps you any, but I'll share my (I think likely) adcom theory for the JS1 wait. I applied late December with great stats and haven't gotten a JS1 yet. But my thought is that Harvard has several admissions committee readers and every app has to be read twice before a JS1 gets sent out, so even a great applicant could be slowed in the process by landing in the stack of a less speedy reader (or two). Especially considering the two staffers who were on leave in the fall, I think its very possible that we have different readers who are going through their stacks and who are just for whatever reason ahead or behind of others. We can't assume that because some mid-January applicants have gotten JS1s that they've completed their review of EVERY applicant before that person.

Just to keep perspective in the ol' thread, let me put out a call for the fellow first/second/third wave JS1 folks who interviewed in November sometime and have heard not a peep since. Tomorrow will be the 100th day since my JS1.
