Ah, didn't see this guy. Well, maybe a few people did receive WLs so far. The big wave hasn't arrived yet, though, that's for sure.hannah87 wrote:this LSN'er claims to have been waitlisted on 4/8. i think there were a couple of others who claimed WL earlier in the cycle, too. why would people lie about that???

Face it, we're all getting waitlisted.

Just withdrew from NYU, giving up 67.5k IP scholarship, hopefully this helps some of you. Good luck!

I only just noticed that NYU's Intention to Enroll form says (in bold) "and have withdrawn from other law schools to which I was admitted."
I'm waitlisted at S and Chi... does this mean I can't pay my deposit at NYU and stay on the waitlists?
Gosh this is so annoying, it doesn't look like anyone else does this (at least Penn, NU, Duke and Cornell don't...)

Admitted does not equal wait list. You can stay on them.

Yes, I see nothing in that language which says you must withdraw from waitlists.gerghk wrote:I only just noticed that NYU's Intention to Enroll form says (in bold) "and have withdrawn from other law schools to which I was admitted."

NYU is trolling us, seriously, do you expect any less from these guys? I am coming up on my 28th week after application submittal. Normal (read: non-sadistic) people do not make not make other people wait this long.hannah87 wrote:according to admissions, more acceptances ARE coming.Illijah wrote:Whats scary is that according to LSN....last year NO ONE was accepted with a decision after 4/05

Re: NYU 2010
I agree that it's hard to imagine a regular, "on the merits"-type acceptance at this point in the game. But I could see NYU waiting until the last minute as a sort of semi-WL, i.e. looking for a few final admits to round out the class in the event of a lower-than-expected yield on, say, applicants that had scholarship offers. Once it becomes clear that they're on track to hit their yield goals, mass WLs would follow, to be reevaluated only after the true yield becomes known.Helmholtz wrote:NYU is trolling us, seriously, do you expect any less from these guys? So i called NYU today, and a lady in the admissions office told me that they are currently in the process of sending out the rest of the applications and will be done by next friday...so ALL decisions are coming soon.

As long as they get it over with... I honestly don't believe any delay will change the results at this point.

Got a letter in the mail yesterday from the dean that was dated March 9th, with a NYU Law magazine. First item I've gotten since the BPE. Seems like their offices are all kinds of backed up. The letter said more materials were forthcoming and encouraged me to visit for an ASW event, which are all now over.

i guess their admissions office is as bad as Fordham's (the deposit deadline was yesterday and they never sent anyone acceptance packages, which were promised in the acceptance letters).CG614 wrote:Got a letter in the mail yesterday from the dean that was dated March 9th, with a NYU Law magazine. Yeah, Fordham is funny. I withdrew via e-mail and then got a decision three weeks later via e-mail. They then sent me a book about the school and another info package, but I never received an official acceptance letter in the mail. I guess we can take these mishaps with a grain of salt, as the admissions office does not necessarily represent the rest of the school, but it would be nice if they had their stuff together.hannah87 wrote:i guess their admissions office is as bad as Fordham's (the deposit deadline was yesterday and they never sent anyone acceptance packages, which were promised in the acceptance letters).CG614 wrote:Got a letter in the mail yesterday from the dean that was dated March 9th, with a NYU Law magazine. agreed. i am totally ready to attend fordham despite their organizational shortcomings, and would obviously be MORE than ready to attend NYU despite theirs. Re: NYU 2010
anyone have any ideas about why nyu fell to #6 this year? i was planning on attending nyu over chicago, and the rankings aren't especially important to me, but i'm wondering if there's anything behind it that i should know about -- i get that the difference between 5 and 6 is negligible, rankings aren't meaningful in cases of such a small difference, and nyu has consistently been in the top 5, but i've thought of nyu as an "upward-trajectory" school so this surprised me a little.
Seriously? What are you waiting for?
