Has anyone had success negotiating scholarships with Cornell? I got my offer this week, and it's not large enough for me to attend.

Does everyone have three under review dates before they receive a decision?
Also for people who get waitlisted it's email right? But ding is snail mail? So if you see a decision finalized but no email is it safe to say your dinged?

If you are WL your status change to Reserve, and you get an email.FiveSermon wrote:Does everyone have three under review dates before they receive a decision?

I have a scholarship from UVA, and I sent a letter to Cornell about it. They matched the UVA offer, but unfortunately didn't offer more.SisyphusHappy wrote:Has anyone had success negotiating scholarships with Cornell? I got my offer this week, and it's not large enough for me to attend.

Has anybody tried negotiating with scholarships from slightly lower ranked schools? I'm assuming it only works with higher ranked, but I really have no idea. (By lower I mean like USC range)

They matched my 120k offer from NU. They had not provided me an offer before I sent NU's.SisyphusHappy wrote:Has anyone had success negotiating scholarships with Cornell? I got my offer this week, and it's not large enough for me to attend.

Hmm...does this mean they only match other schools' offers? Anyone out there who has gotten more from them?tipler4213 wrote:They matched my 120k offer from NU. I applied for the joint JD/Master en Droit program, so maybe it's a different process? Who knows the way they work...?

I was accepted to that EA. The financial aid offer was slow until I showed them a NU offer, which they matched. The scholarship was for three years, so I am not sure how they intend to work it over a four year program if I elect to enroll.jakersatcal wrote:I applied for the joint JD/Master en Droit program, so maybe it's a different process? Re: Cornell 2011 applicants
Considering that the last ASD is this Friday, are those still just sitting on complete out of luck, generally? Or is Cornell so slow across the board that we shouldn't read too much into not hearing anything by now? I didn't get an answer to this from looking at last year's threads.

Ditto!jakersatcal wrote:Second review date today 4/4... moving along
I hear there are usually 3 review dates before a decision! Maybe we WILL hear before end of April!
Also does Cornell make its decisions in batches? Like a batch of admits, one of rejects etc. Or are there mixed batches.
Seriously? What are you waiting for?
