just as an FYI - I emailed financial aid and they said that to be considered for grant/scholarship money you do not have to preemptively send in tax information (apart from FAFSA/NA), they will just ask for it before they hand over the $$$

Re: Cornell 2011 applicants
When I spoke with them, Kelly indicated that they did want the W-2s/tax info (for you and your parents, unless you somehow qualify as independent under their rules) for either 2009 or 2010, though if you can't get it, you should "send what you can."sarahlawg wrote:just as an FYI - I emailed financial aid and they said that to be considered for grant/scholarship money you do not have to preemptively send in tax information (apart from FAFSA/NA), they will just ask for it before they hand over the $$$
She also confirmed that right now, their turn-around time is about a week.

Yeah I'm thinking it's a lost cause for us. I mean deposits are due in a few weeks. I doubt there will be many spots left...

So I called Kelly, and she said I can expect a decision before May 1. Complete 3/16.

Re: Cornell 2011 applicants
I am just now hearing back from Cornell stating that my application is incomplete. WTF? They say I did not submit the dean's certification form, but my undergrad sent that out two months ago. I'm wondering if I should even bother asking them to do another one. By the time they review my app, all of the seats and $$$ will be gone anyway.

:Sigh: Cornell is slow as molasses. I'll probably be at orientation at ND/BC/W&M by the time I hear a decision.

Is financial aid out of the question for people who are likely to receive decisions in mid/late April??

That's what I'm thinking. I think I might just take the money and run elsewhere if it comes to that.FiveSermon wrote:Is financial aid out of the question for people who are likely to receive decisions in mid/late April??

Ugh. Is it though? I mean I applied in mid/late Dec and while that's not early it doesn't seem to be late either.PomasThynchon wrote:That's what I'm thinking.
