Congrats Julia! That is exciting.JuliaGulia wrote:Long time lurker, first time poster. This site has been a wonderful source for me, and I wish I had posted earlier but I was too nervous about my chances throughout the cycle. I am absolutely crazy about MichiganI have already been waitlisted at a handful of schools that are ranked lower so I was losing hope. I didn't have the best shot at Michigan based on my LSAT scores, but poured my heart into the initial application and two additional essays. I received the "non-hold" email a while back, prepared my LOCI to email yesterday and was planning a trip to Ann Arbor in March. I was just about to send the LOCI when my family called to say that I received the admissions package in the mail. The handwritten note read, "Your writing was so lovely." I'm still in complete shock. I love Michigan and could not be more excited. I wish everyone still waiting to hear back luck, don't lose hope! I very much hope to see some of you there this year!

Wow, Julia, congrats! It's always great to hear stories like these, and certainly heartening. Will we be seeing you at Michigan, then, in the summer/fall?JuliaGulia wrote:Long time lurker, first time poster. I am all but certain that I will be attending in the fall. How about you? ... I was held at Harvard, but I don't have delusions about being acceptedAeon wrote: Wow, Julia, congrats! Is there anyone who got the hold email and then rejected? I'm sure I'll be following that step but it hasn't happened yet so just curious.

would they reject holds that quickly? Probably not so near the admissions deadline right?

I will be starting in the summer (and definitely going to Michigan - I'm a Wolverine through and through).JuliaGulia wrote:I am all but certain that I will be attending in the fall. I'm already looking at tickets for the ASW, I can't wait!

Anyone know if they are receptive to changing start term? I was admitted for fall but am thinking I'd really like to switch to summer if they'll let me.

Does anyone know if they send out scholarship information with the acceptance letter or does it come later if one gets a scholarship?

Scholarship offers do not come with the acceptance package. They come later.tallboone wrote:Does anyone know if they send out scholarship information with the acceptance letter or does it come later if one gets a scholarship?

Their website says something to the effect that "it is more difficult to change terms than to be accepted". If I were you, I would write them an email or call them to explain why you would prefer summer start.LifeinKodachrome wrote:Anyone know if they are receptive to changing start term? Most people have reported getting a letter a couple weeks after acceptance.tallboone wrote:Does anyone know if they send out scholarship information with the acceptance letter or does it come later if one gets a scholarship?

Hey Kids. I'm a bit thick (actually, I'm just lazy and unwilling to read through 150 pages). So, if you can log onto the admitted students site and your status checker says "decision" then you've been admitted. Right?

This would have significantly influenced my decision if I knew about that earlier...starstruck393 wrote:No, it shouldn't. Michigan seems fairly unique in that regard...MF248 wrote:So ED'ing at Michigan doesn't effect scholarship money then either?starstruck393 wrote:Doubtful, unless they've run out of money, but they don't seem to differentiate between committed and not committed when giving out $$...magic05 wrote:Does sending in your seat deposit make them more unlikely to give you $?
