Keep your head up. I just looked at LSN and there were at least three straight admits after this point last year... hopefully a few of us snag those!

Jam, do you think it's your retakes that are hurting you or YP at the lower schools and borderline GPA at the higher schools or what? Bc your cycle is freaking insane and I really want you to get into NYU/somewhereJamMasterJ wrote:Mr. Somebody wrote:Still forever under review

Re: NYU Class of 2015 Applicants
well, since I basically have numbers-octuplets (or more) that are in basically the same situation (a ton of WLs and 1 or 0 T14 acceptances), I don't think the retakes are the issue. I don't have any softs that put me over the top, and my gpa is borderline T6, while my LSAT is (I don't want to say YP). The only truly confusing one is NYU because everywhere else, I can see a reasonsnehpets wrote:Jam, do you think it's your retakes that are hurting you or YP at the lower schools and borderline GPA at the higher schools or what? I took the lsat twice and I'm in a similar situation. I think it matters at t6s. I know someone who took it 4 times who's getting killed

Re: NYU Class of 2015 Applicants
Not sure retakes are as big of a deal as people think... I took it 3 times and the highest was still at their 25th percentile. Did any of the current WL's add an addendum for their LSAT performance? That'd be the only difference I can imagine that would have saved me; even so, I'm pretty sure they didn't average my scores...

Re: NYU Class of 2015 Applicants
I was waitlisted today, my stats are in my profile. I'm not terribly surprised I got wl'd given my GPA, but I did take the LSAT twice and the first time was abysmal. I also wrote an addendum explaining away my first super low LSAT score. Basically, I'm not sure if I was wl'd because of my GPA, my retake, or some combination thereof...

all I did was find TLS, study a lot more and with better materials, so, nothing addendum-worthyindigomachine wrote:Not sure retakes are as big of a deal as people think... Wahoo! Waitlisted with a 3.6/167. I am pretty stoked they didn't auto-reject me since I am a non-URM.
How many people off the waitlist do they normally accept?

Re: NYU Class of 2015 Applicants
To add a data point on the other side of the retake question, I took the LSAT only once and I have an abysmal GPA, and I was accepted to NYU in December. Of course it's hard to know if that means anything given my sample size of one, but it fits the pattern of retakes counting slightly against an applicant. I doubt I would have had as much success in my cycle if I had an additional, significantly lower score on my LSAC report. But who knows.NDIrish2012 wrote:I was waitlisted today, my stats are in my profile. I'm not terribly surprised I got wl'd given my GPA, but I did take the LSAT twice and the first time was abysmal.
