Just got my first ding from NYU. Could really use some good news from Georgetown this week to balance it out.

Did you originally apply to both PT and FT??? I don't remember what mine originally said now...jcdjgd wrote:Good eye. Mine changed too...mot sure what it means thoughavd90 wrote:So when my status checker updated today (after sending in my Why GU), my program time changed from BOTH to Full Time. Any idea of what this means, if anything? Hopefully something good!

I actually don't remember.. but it went from both to full time... and the person I mentioned before had the same experience and got in later that week via snail mail... so I'm hopeful, but I don't actually THINK I applied to both... maybe I did? who knows

That switch to just FT is what happen to a lot of people right before they got in. Or if your address updated to say Avenue instead of ave. or Northwest instead of NW & stuff like that....that was another giveaway.

did you end up getting in? or was it just the same forgetfulness regarding whether or not you applied for both or only one?msblaw89 wrote:This happened to me back in Novemberavd90 wrote:I actually don't remember.. but it went from both to full time... and the person I mentioned before had the same experience and got in later that week via snail mail... so I'm hopeful, but I don't actually THINK I applied to both... maybe I did? who knows

FWIW, y'all, mine updated today and my program is still listed as "both."gatorapplicant wrote:so now i'm stressing bc my address on the status checker says ave instead of avenue, hahabenito wrote:That switch to just FT is what happen to a lot of people right before they got in. Re: Georgetown c/o 2015 Applicants (2011-2012 cycle)
Count me in as another person that was deferred into the regular pool (all the way back in November) and just had a status update today (I'm pretty sure that I'm also another person that had their program type switched to 'full time'). While I think this means that we'll all be getting news soon, I'm still feeling a bit anxious. From what I understand, this change could indicate that we've been accepted, but it also could indicate that we've been waitlisted into the full time program (remember folks: correlation doesn't prove causation!). Suppose that all that we can do in the meantime is cross our fingers, kick-back, sip some Johnny Walker and hope for the best.

Way back when I applied I don't think I went complete until January. I was preferred waitlist and then I got in.
And if you're wondering I am on this thread because someone emailed from TLS today asking about GULC.

Okay, so just to clarify lol...
When you submit your app - it automatically lists your program as BOTH. However, when a decision (hopefully a good one) is close to being made it switches to FULL-TIME?
Is this correct?

Re: Georgetown c/o 2015 Applicants (2011-2012 cycle)
No, it would only say both if you said that you would be fine being accepted into either program. If you only applied to P-T, it will say Part-Time and if you only applied to F-T, then it will say full-time. Mine, for example, has always said full-time and since it's been like that for 4 months without an acceptance yet I'm pretty sure that's not an indication that I'm in.parebare23 wrote:Okay, so just to clarify lol...

I had my first update since I went complete on 12/9, but there were no changes other than the date. Does that mean they just read my file for the first time? Still no request for interview, but I'm thinking about sending a LOCI. Too soon?

Ah! FINALLY got my first update! Complete 12/13, update 2/8.
I'm expecting a ding, but I now have renewed hope (at least a tiny bit).

Hi Everyone!
I am deferred yesterday, and GULC is really my first choice. When should I send in my LOCI?
Thanks!

Guys, when do people get the ASW email? Usually before getting the news in the mail, or after?

Actually this was not what happened in my case. It said FT/PT from the beginning and I only applied to FT. Then it switched to just FT right before I was accepted.parebare23 wrote:jhw219 wrote:No, it would only say both if you said that you would be fine being accepted into either program. Re: Georgetown c/o 2015 Applicants (2011-2012 cycle)
hmm interesting. well i guess it's just dependent on whether it said FT/PT before because if it did, then it seems like a good sign! otherwise, if you're like me and have always been FT then i dunno what to think!benito wrote:Actually this was not what happened in my case. Re: Georgetown c/o 2015 Applicants (2011-2012 cycle)
it depends. If like me you were obsessively trying to create a login on ASW manually you will be able to do it well before any snail mail arrives. I was able to generate a user name password a good ten days before I got the mailed acceptance. But if you don't do that they will send you an email letting you know you can access the ASW couple days or so after letter arrives.avd90 wrote:Guys, when do people get the ASW email? when you speak of interviews, were you all talking about individual interviews ?
I was offered 2 group interviews back in december but never did it because I had work at the time...
