I don't think anyone took it that way. It's TLS - debating schools is what we do.

What I figured: Y > S > H > C > C

You have every opportunity from S as you do from H, but you have the advantages of a smaller class size, greater public interest opportunities (if that's what you want to do), or less competition for firm jobs (smaller class size + more students going to public interest), and a friendlier environment.

But maybe I'm saying this because I don't have a chance at Harvard while, as a median-median student, I could at least theoretically get Stanford. Fingers crossed. No DLS yet!

Yale's the big dog, though.

I still haven't heard from Stanford and have a $60k scholarship to another top 5. Should I wait until I hear from the admissions committee before writing a LOCI or go ahead and send them one before hearing back?

I would send one now - that's what many people (including myself) have been doing here.

I want to ask this question again as well:

For those of us who haven't heard back, is there any financial aid stuff we have to do for Stanford? I don't want to miss any deadlines...

I think FAFSA and NeedAccess are supposed to be submitted by March 15.

Edited: Or maybe it was March 1st now that I think about it some more. Either way, I'd do it soon if you haven't yet.

If you applied to several schools and have been admitted to them already, this shouldn't be a big deal. Just have FAFSA and NeedAccess forwarded on to Stanford as well.

But yeah, do all the generic financial aid stuff for all your schools. The only thing I held off on are tax returns and specific school forms, for the obvious reason.

I remember a few days ago (maybe weeks?) a day that calls started at about 2pm PST. Maybe Dean Deal will make a few today after lunch (crosses fingers).
