waitlisted today. big reach numbers, so I'm happy to still be alive, but after Berkeley's waitlist a couple weeks ago I just hope something pans out for me :?

Michigan is probably my top choice, so I really hope they take some people of the WL.
Apparently they must not like us badgers :( I'm in a very similar situation to you with slightly higher numbers. Would love to go to Michigan so hopefully they get to the waitlist sooner rather than later or I'm just going to have to take one of my T6 acceptances

WL today, 173/3.7, submitted in mid-december.

Informal poll among people with decent/good numbers who got waitlisted: did you did 0, 1, or 2 optional essays?

I did 1 (the 'Why Michigan'). Maybe it is an unwritten rule that they expect people who really really do want Michigan specifically to always do 2 optionals.
