FWIW, I did some more LSN mining and updated with a later post that is a tiny bit more reassuring. I think it's a few pages back.easternstandardtime1 wrote:LSN shows 100% of people with my numbers in, but the decision date analysis earlier is getting me anxious (claimed that all but 9 applicants who applied in oct and nov were admitted in dec; the rest...)

This year's LSN graph has me in the admit pile, so that is what I will choose to believe.

After a long luxurious vacation spent not thinking about law school, I come home and open up my mailbox and boom!
ED. At median for LSAT. Way under 25% for GPA. Good luck to those still waiting!

I just called the office and an automated message said it was closed until 1/4. looks like those of us who are still just processing (since 11/25!) will have to sit tight for a while longer

You must share dates, otherwise you're just torturing your fellow ED applicants.ميشيل عفلق wrote:After a long luxurious vacation spent not thinking about law school, I come home and open up my mailbox and boom!

Re: NYU 2011
I had to do some checking, but I can now confirm that for RD applicants, it is fairly normal (of all things) for a predated "decision letter sent" to appear on the status check well after the decision was sent. For example, one admit (complete in November, good numbers) was UR until about 12/23, at which point the status changed to "Decision letter sent," dated 12/15 — several days after the letter itself arrived.
I suspect that what happened with the sneak attack admissions (people still UR who got accepted by letter) is that the status updated to "Decision letter sent" some days later (maybe even as much as a week). I'd be curious to know if that actually is true.

Hey Shaq, sorry to hear that. Hopefully things will still work out for you. Would you mind posting dates (UR and letter mailed)?

Under review late october; letter sent last week sometime (don't have it in front of me.). Have there been any other ED defferals this cycle so far? I've only seen acceptances and rejections, if memory serves me.

Bummer man. I have a feeling I am about to join you...does your status checker still say UR 12/15 by chance?thereelshaq wrote:otto wood wrote:thereelshaq wrote:Deferred via snail mail on Friday. was ED. Submitted/went complete in early october.

Status checker still says 12/22, which makes sense because I'm still under RD review (It never changed to "Decision letter sent"). Not too big a bummer-- I'll just have to draft a great LOCI and rustle a new rec or two. Good luck to everyone who has yet to hear back!

And otto, I do have one rather unusual soft that I highlighted in my PS, but I'm not sure how much of a difference it made. Judging by several others who have heard back ED, it appears that if you have a 17x and a GPA above the median, you've got a shot.
Overall, and I know this is trite, but I couldn't have done this without TLS. The LSAT help, the PS revisions, the general application advice. Absolutely invaluable.
