Looks like I found my spot. Took mom and gram house/apartment looking in Gainesville last week. We must have looked at 9 or 10 places, but the ones they liked the most were out by Archer and SW 75th, far enough from the undergrad life but close enough to the LS. A little pricey though as they wanted to go with a 3BR, although I'm not even sure we own enough furniture for that large a space.

Also found a place and actually just finished moving in! It's like 5 miles from Levin so I'm pretty happy about that. So now I'm just bumming by the pool until I can find something productive to do lol.DrackedaryMaster wrote:Looks like I found my spot. Well guys... I made my decision today. I'm going to... UF!
It wasn't really OFFICIALLY OFFICIAL until I hit submit on the seat deposit. Was a really weird feeling once I did even though I knew I'd most likely end up at Levin. Now for the hard part: finding somewhere to call home for the next year or three :/

Congrats! Is anyone else going a little stir crazy by the way? I've been home for a week (not working until June) and I need ideas on stuff to do, because I feel like my brain is turning into mush.

This probably isn't the best solution but it's what i've been doing lately.... Endurance reading with a few games of wordswithfriends in between lol.... But really hopefully reading 50-75 pages a night will help even though I understand reading a dry and not sp entertaining casebook may be three times as hard. The last month before school Im going to also integrate some type of endurance writing, because honestly these 4 yrs undergrad have not helped at all since I only type now. I can't go two pages without my hand cramping upLSATmakesMeNeurotic wrote:Congrats! Is anyone else going a little stir crazy by the way? Unfortunately, I don't have any problem with reading. I've been reading a book a day for the last week and I'm kind of burned out. As for the writing... I never took notes on my laptop (cure you stupid battery!) so yeah. :-/ It's really hard to fill a day without work and/or school. Working out only takes up about 2 hours haha. Maybe I'll learn a language!FortuneFavorsTheBold wrote:This probably isn't the best solution but it's what i've been doing lately.... Yea, same shots you needed for UG I'm fairly sure, ask your UG if they have the records on file etc.PleaseHelpThanks wrote:Can one of my wonderful future classmates enlighten me on these immunizations... I'm confused because I feel like I have gotten most/all of these immunizations, although I have no record of it. Should I still go get these shots? Where is the cheapest place to get this done? Didn’t we need these for undergrad? It’s been so long since I started college I can’t remember.
Thanks!

I'm just going to go to my doctor's office tomorrow and see if he will fill out the form. I'll let you know what happens.PleaseHelpThanks wrote:Can one of my wonderful future classmates enlighten me on these immunizations... My doctor's office just filled out the form based on their records. I think your UG should have it, but if it has been a long time, I'd just go to the doctor.

Oh God, I don't think IKEA would work too well for me considering I have 0 mechanical ability with tools and putting things together. I think I hold the record for all-time lowest score for an ASVAB section without purposely trying to fail it. I got 90's and above on all the math/verbal sections, but on the Auto & Shop section, I got a 6! My recruiter looked at that and asked me "Do you know what a hammer looks like?" Fortunately, he was still able to find me a job, far away from the flightline.Barbie wrote: That's what IKEA and Craigslist are for
Hey, for those of you already in Gainesville needing some furniture, not sure how much of a "real" deal it is or not, but there's apparentally some Discount Furniture Warehouse behind the Target that's open this weekend. The prices on the website seem a little too good to be true and the items are top-brand quality, but they say its due to low overhead and trying to clear excess inventory. I'm going to check it out today, but was wondering if anyone else had already been there. They're only open one weekend during the month and take appointments the rest of the time. Again, looks a little too good to be true, but we'll see I guess.

It's basically several storage units this guy sells furniture out of. I've heard some complaints about the guy, but I bought my microfiber couches from him 5 years ago and they still look great. It's kind of bait and switch- yes he sells the really cheap stuff he advertises, but it's crap. He has nicer things, obviously for more money, but still cheaper than a regular store.

I'm just finishing moving in and have exactly 0 things to do for the next week, so if there is a meet up to meet my future classmates I'm def down.thewarflamingo wrote:Oh yes! Some of us from the February ASD are going to be in town and are meeting up, so everyone is invited to come out with us if you'll be in Gainesville.
