Nothing going in Michigan. Are they prepping for a snow storm too? No status checker update for me today.

I didn't get anything in the mail today. Does this definitely mean you got a scholarship, or is it just an invitation to apply? How much money are dean's scholarships usually? Feel free to PM me.
That's odd, I didn't think they posted that under the admissions communications tab. I figured it would show up under financial aid communications at the end of Feb...
So you don't have anything under the money and mail thing? Does anyone else have anything under the mailings (other than admission package)? I'm really trying to not get my hopes up until I literally have a piece of paper in my hand stating that I got some scholarship money. I was joking with someone that they sent me a letter to tell me "In case you were wondering about the dean's scholarship that you may have read about on TLS, you didn't get it. That is all." LOL.
I think you're the first person to have posted that. With 2/2, though, you'd also be the most recent person to get a $$, so maybe they recently changed. For a while, all of my notifications had disappeared, then returned after a month. It's quite possible that they've been changing up the format...
This raises a good question: How do people typically find out about scholarship offers? Plenty of people have been offered already...is it via snail mail? What is the typical length of time between receiving the admit packet and receiving financial aid info?

Michigan status checker is tricky. Sometimes it updates late between 10:10 and 10:15am est. Give it 15 mins and check.

It's typically via reg mail, though Darrow invitations come through email. The notification usually comes a few weeks after acceptance. They seem to come in waves, as well, so I wouldn't necessarily worry if you're waiting. Those with the requisite numbers usually get money...

With requisite numbers? Do you have any indication of what those are? I see quite a range on LSN. Would love to go to Mich, but am scared by huge debt. Even a small scholarship would make me feel a lot better.

Does sending in your seat deposit make them more unlikely to give you $?

It seems to be pretty set. What are your numbers? Different numbers give different amounts...

Doubtful, unless they've run out of money, but they don't seem to differentiate between committed and not committed when giving out $$...

Jim has a great graph earlier in this thread that reflects scholarship amounts relative to LSAT and GPA scores:

(The graph is about mid-way down the page.)

So ED'ing at Michigan doesn't effect scholarship money then either?

No, it shouldn't. Michigan seems fairly unique in that regard...

Haha actually some have suggested that trying to withdraw sometimes gets them to throw massive $$$ at you if they want you bad enough.

First, big congrats! Second, . (The video is a heartwarming plug for Michigan Law, complete with cheesy music. I teared up at the end--no joke. )

I left my flash drive at my folks place and I kind of want to watch it now. I can't seem to find it on the admitted student's site though...

Yea, under Mail and Money, in the Admissions Communications tab, there's a link in your Offer Package box for Flash Drive...
