the only reason I doubt this is because somebody called Georgetown and they said that they were "experimenting with new forms of communicating decisions," and that acceptances would come via snail-mail while everything else would come via e-mail.rmatha wrote:I think it is pretty clear that both rejections and acceptances come via snail mail.

Re: Georgetown 2013/ (2014)
I do not think there is anyway everyone that is DR 12/1 got accepted and no one has received a rejection email. The new form of communication could be refering to the waitlist emails, but still meaning all final decisions will be delivered via snail mail. Really the only thing that makes any sense.Philaw wrote:the only reason I doubt this is because somebody called Georgetown and they said that they were "experimenting with new forms of communicating decisions," and that acceptances would come via snail-mail while everything else would come via e-mail.rmatha wrote:I think it is pretty clear that both rejections and acceptances come via snail mail.

Don't worry folks! I'll let you know of my rejection as soon as I receive it in letter format.

Interviewed yesterday. Today I updated back to UR....
I expect a DR within a week or so. Is that reasonable?

My status is still at "Committee Requested Interview" (11/19)... someone tell me that it will go straight to "DR" and not back to "UR"... I think my head might explode.

I don't think I'm that odd of a candidate. 167 and 3.7X. On second thought, I retook in September and got a 163 (ouch) as a result of staying in a hotel and not being able to sleep all night. I wrote an addendum but I think it still looks really fishy. I was PTing at 170-173 so I about died when I got that result back. Perhaps that's what's making them second guess me. Other than that I have very strong softs.RSN_M3 wrote:I received that same e-mail and have been pondering the same thing in the past few posts.somethingclever wrote:I have been searching and I haven't found any on else mention the below email. Did any of them get dinged? Or does this mean I have at least a WL coming my way?
Dear Somethingclever,
Thank you for applying to the Juris Doctor program at Georgetown University Law Center . The record you present is a strong one, and the Committee on Admissions has chosen to postpone your final decision.
Each year, a large number of candidates submit applications to Georgetown Law early in the process. The high quality of this group makes the Committee's decisions extremely difficult. Please be aware that only a small number of early applicants have had their applications held, and a number of those applicants in past years have subsequently been admitted.
Once we have a better sense of the entire applicant pool, the Committee on Admissions will review your application again in January. No additional information is necessary, and the Law School Data Assembly Service (LSDAS) will continue to send us updates, which we will add to your file. A final decision will be mailed no later than Friday, February 26, 2010.
On behalf of the Committee, we appreciate your patience and continued interest in Georgetown.
In my case, I'm hoping that they're not waiting to see if I took the December LSAT and that my application is currently strong enough to be accepted/waitlisted in RD. I really don't know what to make of this e-mail, because my situation is a bit peculiar.
Guess we'll find out in a few months.... grrr.

I guess you're not an odd candidate. My first and only LSAT score was even lower than your 163. I'm not a URM either, but my softs and PS must really be doing their work.somethingclever wrote:I don't think I'm that odd of a candidate. 167 and 3.7X. Another 12/7 DR here. I was also under review on several different dates at different times. Silly Georgetown.

Same here. Those mother fuckers took over a week to send me out a generic rejection email. Fucking waste of my time.
