Things are quiet here today! I hope that means everyone is out having fun.
Quick question though - has anyone gotten a fee waiver from NYU or Columbia? Excluding people whose waivers carried over from previous cycles.

I hit a brick wall on UVA's app when I saw I had to list out extracurriculars and hobbies. It's not even hard, I just don't want to...basedvulpes wrote:This is exactly how I'm feeling. Imagine if LSAC created a law school version of the Common App...barley wrote:I hit a brick wall on UVA's app when I saw I had to list out extracurriculars and hobbies. Does this mean you mentioned your username on TLS?Hildegard15 wrote: I didn't list much in that section. :/ I've pretty much just been an athlete, so I'm not involved in much else. Though in my interests I do mention my obsession with all things medieval

Berk's app is somewhat invasive

Ha same here. I realized that there are probably only four T14 schools I'd actually want to go to, so I dunno if there's a point writing Why X's for anywhere else.basedvulpes wrote:I'm struggling to write optional essays. Really starting to reconsider my tactic of writing as many optional essays as possible because I'm not sure I can really write very good "why x" essays for some schools. Then I feel bad about being lazy and try to convince myself to suck it up and just do it. Then the cycle repeats.barley wrote:I hit a brick wall on UVA's app when I saw I had to list out extracurriculars and hobbies. Thank you, Barley! I'm always gone, yet never hard to find. I spent some time in Michigan and Chicago, and checked out NU, UM, and UChi. Northwestern is definitely moving up on the list.barley wrote:I'm glad you still exist - hi!fips tedora wrote:Berk's app is somewhat invasive

The school itself is a splendid mixture of old and new buildings/architecture, the surrounding neighborhoods are some of the best in the city, and obviously, the employment statistics are great.slippin_jimmy wrote:fips tedora wrote:Thank you, Barley! It's a great school, especially if you've got BigLaw ambition.

Ughhh I'm looking up apartments in Durham and Charlottesville right now and they would be so cheap and beautiful for my future dog and me... I think they're starting to overtake NYU and Columbia as my top choices right now.

I've been drinking the UVA/Duke kool-aid since I graduated from frat life, yet I would still take NYU/Columbia over both in a heartbeat.barley wrote:Ughhh I'm looking up apartments in Durham and Charlottesville right now and they would be so cheap and beautiful for my future dog and me...
