So, yesterday they said everything's been sent out, yet still no emails or letters. Unless this is the world's slowest email delivery system, something doesn't add up.

You should ask them that. The answer that they'll give you is that re-taking could greatly help your chances.RSN_M3 wrote:I'm glad I wasn't rejected in ED (deferred to RD), but do you guys think a deferral means they're waiting to see if I took the December LSAT? I'm a reverse splitter, with 2 years working experience (top 20 firm and top 50 firm), but my LSAT is way below the 25% at Georgetown. So the question is...do you guys think my deferral is based on the notion that someone with my credentials is likely to retake the LSAT or based on the strength of my application as it currently is?

Well, I suppose this kills the whole it will take days for an e-mail due to clogged tubes theory.RSN_M3 wrote:I went complete on 11/03, then on 12/04 it suddenly changed to UR and I received an e-mail (a few minutes later) telling me the application was deferred to RD. Same here. I am trying to study, but cannot help but log on to TLS to see if there are any GULC updates.Philaw wrote:Well, I suppose this kills the whole it will take days for an e-mail due to clogged tubes theory.RSN_M3 wrote:I went complete on 11/03, then on 12/04 it suddenly changed to UR and I received an e-mail (a few minutes later) telling me the application was deferred to RD. Re: Georgetown 2013/ (2014)
I have been searching and I haven't found any on else mention the below email. I received it on 12/2 and my status checker has always said under review. Obviously this is better than getting a rejection. My question is, do we know what this meant for people in the past? Did any of them get dinged? Or does this mean I have at least a WL coming my way?
Dear Somethingclever,
Thank you for applying to the Juris Doctor program at Georgetown University Law Center . The record you present is a strong one, and the Committee on Admissions has chosen to postpone your final decision.
Each year, a large number of candidates submit applications to Georgetown Law early in the process. The high quality of this group makes the Committee's decisions extremely difficult. Please be aware that only a small number of early applicants have had their applications held, and a number of those applicants in past years have subsequently been admitted.
Once we have a better sense of the entire applicant pool, the Committee on Admissions will review your application again in January. No additional information is necessary, and The Law School Data Assembly Service (LSDAS) will continue to send us updates, which we will add to your file. A final decision will be mailed no later than Friday, February 26, 2010.
On behalf of the Committee, we appreciate your patience and continued interest in Georgetown.

Re: Georgetown 2013/ (2014)
I think it is pretty clear that both rejections and acceptances come via snail mail. So it would make sense that the 12/1 DR is made up of both.

Who is on your avatar Brose? I've played hockey since I was four, still love it, but never watched much other than WHL stuff or the games that would have something to do with tournaments, future opponents, etc. I was a goaltender in my finer days.brose002 wrote:Same here.
