According to the interview mega-post on page 88, people with short and long interviews have all gotten in. Mine was about 14 minutes, but considering at least five of those minutes were me asking her questions I felt like my interview was way too short. And then I got in.

Re: Harvard c/o 2016 Applicants (2012-2013)
I asked this in the Held at Harvard thread, but I don't know how many people are keeping track of that one, so I hope it's okay for me to ask this here. (Just ignore me if not...)
Is two pages too long for an update on my activities + Why Harvard? This would be single-spaced, normal font and typeface (Arial, 12pt). I do have like three separate things to update them on. I'm addressing it to the admissions committee.

That sounds long (like a page to half a page to long) but let's be real, I have no clue and neither do anyone else here.amsong wrote:I asked this in the Held at Harvard thread, but I don't know how many people are keeping track of that one, so I hope it's okay for me to ask this here. Harvard seems to want everything short and sweet. One page resume. Two page PS, double spaced. I don't think any additional materials should exceed the PS in length, but that's just my impression

Thanks, all. I suppose if one of my updates does not include "Nobel Peace Prize" or "Best Supporting Actress", I don't have to go into such detail. Still, with these stupid address header formalities, I'm running out of space!

Question on updating after JS1. I've already updated once, prior to JS1 (about a publication and an award) and now I've been sitting post JS1 since 1/9 and I just found out this law review essay I was invited to write with a law professor I know has been submitted - should I send that information now, or sit on it in the event of being waitlisted or held?
Thanks for the advice.

Best Supporting Actress would be even shorter. Just mail them the Oscar.amsong wrote:Thanks, all. But it's so shiny! Still, I suppose I would trade it for a JS1-2.Yukos wrote:Best Supporting Actress would be even shorter. Just mail them the Oscar.amsong wrote:Thanks, all. Submitted mid-November.
No hold or JS1.
What should I expect?

Re: Harvard c/o 2016 Applicants (2012-2013)
Given that you already updated about a publication, another update about a publication does not seem to add a lot of value. Looking through HLS's eyes, I would wonder what you thought it added/what new aspect of you that you think it brings to their attention that they do not already know about.d330 wrote:Question on updating after JS1. Also... submission does not seem like a big deal, especially given the fact that you have an actual publication. Unless, did you specifically mention it in your JS1? If so, this might be a good opportunity to bring yourself back on the map.
I mean, "However, if you have substantial updates to your application, this is a good time to submit them." I am not sure they would feel that it is substantial...

I'm never sure if I wish that AdComms worked on the weekend so that I could potentially hear something, or glad they don't so it gives me two days off from stressing.
Seriously? What are you waiting for?
