The Admission Office just replied my e-mail asking my application status and they said: A decision letter had been mailed on March 8, 2013.
I am soooooo nervous now! Do they reject applicants through mail? What kind of letter will I receive?

I think rejections/reserves come via email, so I'd celebrate (with caution) if I were you.mez4083 wrote:The Admission Office just replied my e-mail asking my application status and they said: A decision letter had been mailed on March 8, 2013.

I am really not sure about it. As an international student, it usually takes 20 days to receive a letter from U.S. That feeling of knowing sth is coming but you have no idea what exactly it would be is really painful.ht2988 wrote:I think rejections/reserves come via email, so I'd celebrate (with caution) if I were you.mez4083 wrote:The Admission Office just replied my e-mail asking my application status and they said: A decision letter had been mailed on March 8, 2013.

Last year they sent an e-mail notifying my application fee waiver and saying they mailed me a viewbook of Columbia Law but I never received that (my admission letters from other law schools safely reach my mailbox). So I just wonder whether I can receive Columbia's decision letter this time....><

But it seems that at this stage of the cycle, Columbia's emailing acceptances, too.ht2988 wrote:I think rejections/reserves come via email, so I'd celebrate (with caution) if I were you.mez4083 wrote:The Admission Office just replied my e-mail asking my application status and they said: A decision letter had been mailed on March 8, 2013.

I understand. So it might still be a rejection letter, sigh..smdpnp wrote:But it seems that at this stage of the cycle, Columbia's emailing acceptances, too.ht2988 wrote:I think rejections/reserves come via email, so I'd celebrate (with caution) if I were you.mez4083 wrote:The Admission Office just replied my e-mail asking my application status and they said: A decision letter had been mailed on March 8, 2013.

I'm also international (in Europe) and I got my acceptance letter in an e-mail - it was subsequently mailed to me and I received it several days after. Good luck!mez4083 wrote:I understand. Has there been any post-hold movement for CLS?

And by supplement, we mean just update transcripts, right? I can't find the text of the hold email right now for some reason..

So, I went through the 2015 hold forum and from 2/23 until 4/11 no holds had any movement. Seems like holds shouldn't think about hearing back before then.... I could be totally wrong but 20 pages of last years thread seems to agree with me
People did get requests from Columbia to update their app with loci but that's about it

what percentage of them were ultimately accepted?Anonymous4444 wrote:So, I went through the 2015 hold forum and from 2/23 until 4/11 no holds had any movement. Got home from two weeks out of town this evening thinking, "Surely, there must be an envelope from Columbia waiting for me when I get home. I mean, it's been over five months since I went complete... surely they MUST have dinged/accepted me by now." But no... no they haven't. The waiting game continues.

no clue....
its very hard to know bec most holds dont announce themselves and of those that did many could have been reserved or eventually decided to withdraw bec of other choices or seat deposits/tired of waiting/ scholarship deadlines and so on.... if someone wants to give it a shot though be my guest

Re: Columbia c/o 2016 Applicants (2012-2013)
I didn't try to calculate any kind of percentage but just FYI it looks like the hold process pans out similar to being on FR at Berkeley...
A ton of acceptances went out for holds the second week of April, many had been sent a LOCI request the week before.
There were very, very few acceptances after that wave, and then on the last date for a hold decision everyone got reserved.
So if this cycle is anything like the last there will be a big week long wave of hold acceptances and if you're not in it you're basically SOL.

Re: Columbia c/o 2016 Applicants (2012-2013)
I attended the Regional event in LA @Beverly wilshire hotel tonight. Columbia cleans up pretty good, quality event not half bad grey goose bloody marys on the house. The alumns seemed to have done very well in CA, plenty of jobs even recently for B+/A- students. Countenance was rather straight edge and corporate tho, but overall positive impression, def leaned me more toward cls
