Is anyone going on the Campus Tour tomorrow? If so, what are you wearing?

Waitlisted, but, they said they would let me in PT. I love this school, and it's a top choice. But, even if I got in, I can't really justify the $100k of debt. And it's pretty much the same for PT after you factor in the 4 years. I thought about saying "hey my LSAT is one point about the 75% for the PT, any chance of money?" But I doubt it would work. And I know I won't be getting any aid since they look at my parent's tax returns. I'm sad :(

I've narrowed it down to Brooklyn and one other school. I hope to make my decision in the next week or so.

k,next question: anyone know how much money could be awarded after the first year, for falling into the top of the class?

I know some schools reserve scholarships after the first year for only those students who do well but did not score any merit aid upon acceptance.

How long does it take between acceptance and the $ offer (I haven't received their packet yet; just the first letter)? I only ask because there is ZERO chance I attend Brooklyn at sticker.

I got admitted in early February but still no word on merit scholarship - does that mean that I didn't receive any? If so....sadness. I like Brooklyn a lot but cannot afford sticker price!! Suggestions other than bombarding myself with loans?

Apply for Fellowships. Also, it does not mean you dont get merit aid-they may still give you some-did your acceptance letter say they were considering you for merit aid-that is not a generic sentence, it is actually a guarantee that you will get something. If not, you can always try asking for some, especially if you have gotten offers from other places.
Also, they do give some need based grants.

It was super fast-i think I went complete like 2 weeks ago.

Any chance I get scholarship money, despite the crappy gpa?

How did you hear? Email snail or phone? Frustrated by the fact that Brooklyn doesn't use the traditional status checker!

I got my decision a day after going complete. But it's likely because I had forgotten to follow-up about my dean's cert. Once it was on it's way, I got the word. They may have made the decision and were waiting for me to turn it in.

Admits usually come via email first.

If you haven't heard, be sure that they have your dean's cert. It seems to be a common reason people don't get their decisions.

Goosey, check back on your status checker in a week or so. If a financial aid link pops up, you'll have some money coming, and the info there will tell you how much.

edit: phonepro...was there a question in your previous post? You mentioned money that I think you told us about before, so I was thinking maybe there was a question intended this time. fwiw, I didn't get much money so I asked for more consideration and was told it was non-negotiable. but I didn't try leveraging w/ any other acceptance. I suspect that this may not be the case for those who get more substantial amounts because their numbers are likely much higher. But I just thought I'd mention this FYI. Cant hurt to try.

the question was whether it was worth trying to leverage. I don't want to turn them off or seem greedy, but it would be nice to have part of my housing paid for as well and was wondering if I could use my acceptance to Fordham as leverage to ask BLS for more.

I wrote them a letter and attached my other offers and they gave me another $8K, so it's worth a shot.

Who specifically did you write to? I was thinking of doing this but I wasn't sure who to send it to.

They sent me an e-mail about checking scholarships and the AS site said 0$. I'm not paying sticker at $66k/year (total COA) for Brooklyn (though I'll check back and see if anything changes). I also still haven't gotten that huge admissions package yet... just an e-mail and letter. And I'm not even that far away from Brooklyn.
