Thanks for the words of encouragement. And you're right; at the end of the day, all the over-analyzing will have had no effect on the outcome.existenz wrote:Stay positive. You haven't been held yet, which means they like you more than those that have already been held. But, they are still trying to sort out what kind of class they want and you are obviously on the borderline. If they didn't like you, you wouldn't have received a JR1. But it's out of your hands now. Don't beat yourself up. NYU is an incredible fallback and you're gonna have a great law career either way.portena wrote:Same here...JR1 was 1/20. I know many (most?) on TLS with a post-Christmas JR1 either got the JR2 within a couple of weeks or were held. I can't decide if not being held is good or bad...perhaps he's just waiting on one thing or another to make the call, or perhaps we're not being held because he already knows he's going to waitlist us? Makes my head hurt.ivorynightfall wrote:So its been a month now, and still no JR2. Does this mean I am destined for an eventual hold/waitlist and they are just being a horrible tease, or is it still reasonable for me to hope for another call?

Resurrecting this thread. Any other JR1s awaiting JR2s, especially ones who got JR1s late in the game?

Good luck guys. I had my JR1 this past week. Got really nervous at first and did my fair share of stuttering and stammering, and it was probably shorter than 5 minutes. Only solace comes from him asking me where Harvard ranked on my list, which I'm choosing to interpret optimistically.

Maybe the theme for LOST is all the people who got JR1s but not JR2s... The island inhabits all of the JR2-less people. Just a thought.
PS. I am still JR1-less, so while I understand your pain, I'd like to hear something about my application.

Ha, I actually clarified the question saying something like "you mean if i got in everywhere i applied, where would I go?" because i was so surprised by that question. And yes, I did answer Harvard (truthfully), but I feel like you would have to either be very ballsy/dumb or have a preferred acceptance in the bag to answer any other school...hahaenglawyer wrote:i hope you said #1invisiblesun wrote:Good luck guys. Seeing as the Harvard applicants thread is mostly pre-JR1ers and the Harvard admits thread is mostly post-JR2ers, I'm thinking it's time to resurrect a place for us limbo-ers.
Based off of postings in the applicant thread, there appears to be fewer of us--but how many of us actually exist this year?
