I know. But you said that 65-70% of all students won't qualify for scholarship renewal. People who were never offered the scholarship aren't eligible for renewal and shouldn't be placed in the same pool. One would assume that people who are offered the scholarship are generally more likely to place in the top third of the class, right? I don't think those stats are as disconcerting as you guys are making them out to be.

The bolded statement above is accurate. regardless of if the scholarship is offered to you, you still would not be eligible to maintain it if you were not in the top 35%.

If you have the scholarship you have to be in the top 35% of all students.

And no, it's not necessarily true that those students are more likely to be in the top 35%. scholarships are also offered to to URMs or to some people to sway them from other schools.

Maybe it's not AS dismal, but it's dismal.

It's an awful requirement and it sounds like way too many people lose their scholarships for it to be a good decision. The people who got the 2.3 requirement are much luckier (though I'm guessing their stats are better).

How many of you think you will be going to DePaul for sure? My acceptances are as follows:

DePaul - 15k/year with 3.2
Loyola - 5K/year with 3.0
John Marshall - 20k/year with Top 25% (lol )

Waiting to hear from Kent, U Houston, and Georgia State. I doubt I will get any significant scholarship offers at any of those schools though. It seems to me like DePaul is my only realistic choice.

I also hope that is a good sign. Of course I'm also hoping for $$. I wrote a 1-page addendum for the Public Interest Law Legal Analysis program, so... there's a lot of hoping going on. I'm still nervous that a huge typo on my application won't make me look dumb. The common application form completely took over the employment history section of my application. I tried to correct it 3 times, but it would always save over my changes with information from the common application form, which had 1 job listed twice due to it being my first real full-time job, but I worked there while going to graduate school. Anyway... maybe they read my resume and have seen that type of mistake on the application before.

Got my decision in the mail today...extremely dissapointed to be waitlisted as DePaul is supposed to be my Chicago safety school.

Not sure what went wrong. I'm a 3.35/159 applicant with 5 years of consulting experience. I'm also waitlisted at American and thought if I'm waitlisted at a top 50 school then DePaul shouldn't be a problem. Oh well...it is what it is...I'd like to call and find out what my application weakness is, but I assume they wouldn't be too forthcoming with that information...

If you applied PT, then yes, the WL is surprising. If you applied FT, then not so much....

Unfortunately your 5 years of WE wont help you out really. Send a LOCI if Depaul is where you want to be. Bummer, but time to be proactive if this is where you want to be.

When did you go complete? Don't feel too bad about it, I think much of the decision has to do with the date you applied. I had a 160/3.4 (nearly identical to your numbers) and was accepted with 15K scholly, but I applied early(ish)

I went complete mid-January. I definitely think it has something to do with my application date...

Has anyone who got a decision on 2/4 received any indications from DePaul? I'm hoping the snow has slowed the phone calls a little. I'm still hoping for that PI Legal Analysis program... should I be?
