Yeah I'm curious too. I'm seriously considering attending.

Re: In at Miami!
I was poking around on Craiglist last week. It all seems really affordable to me, but I'm coming from NYC so my perception is completely skewed.midrangejumper wrote:since you guys were talking about it, i decided to just watch it too. they talked about all the "affordable housing" and everything i heard is OPPOSITE to that
EDIT: For example, there's a 2 BDR on Brickell for $1650 right now. Luxury building, 1300+ square feet. In my eyes, that's an amazing steal.

Without having a good sense of whether places were located in safe areas, I also had the same sense. There seem to be some really affordable options out there compared to what I'm paying now.holmesNYC wrote:I was poking around on Craiglist last week. 1-2 BDRMs for $880-1500 depends on where you want to live. I'd say South Beach is the best.

Well, it's not too far away. But it's the best place to live in the area.

Yeah my hostel was there when I visited, and it took about 45 min with the bus and metrorail. How long would it take driving?

Maybe 15-20 minutes but I don't remember it being too far. Giving up on Fordham and Wisconsin already?

Probably giving up on Wisconsin, but I would jump at a chance to go to Fordham (doesn't seem likely though).

$880-$1,000 wouldn't be too bad for a 2 bedroom 1 bath

Yeah, but what about rush hour traffic? I imagine a lot of South Beach people are actually working in downtown Miami and commuting in.Jwatson wrote:nvoight911 wrote:Jwatson wrote:joobacca wrote:i stayed in a hotel for a week in south beach for spring break. i did not see the u anywhere closeby.

I'd say it's worth it.

I drove through Miami on the way to Key West during spring break and the traffic was rather hurrendous. I say this coming from the DC metropolitan area where traffic is awful.

I'm thinking about it. It's the same weekend as UGA's although I just visited UGA this past Friday and they told me it's pretty much the same. Only thing is that Miami does not provide travel stipends.midrangejumper wrote:how many of you guys are going there for ASW? i dont think i can go there then...will i miss a lot?
