I sure hope it is because I applied 10/4, interviewed 11/11, and still no decision.

I applied in October and got in in late March back in the day and got a pretty decent scholarship. The only thing you can read into the wait is that you aren't an auto admit, which you should already know if you're not.

Seriously starting to wonder if I should say "Never mind, don't interview me" because it's taking FOREVER. Emailed them a few days ago because it'd been three weeks after submitting interview request and they said they'd found an alum to interview me and were trying to work out things with them but I should be hearing something soon

Congratulations!! Do you think emailing might have helped/should I email them once it's been similarly as long for me as well?call-me-bubbles wrote:In today via e-mail! If you interviewed a while back and still nothing, don't despair, for I was one of you!File complete 9/13 (other than interview), finally interviewed 10/14, and waiting ever since. I e-mailed a few weeks back to make sure they had everything they needed, finally got a response yesterday, and got my acceptance e-mail about an hour ago. Long story short: Still no clue how their decision timeline works, but -- at least at this point in the cycle -- try not to worry too much about the amount of time that's passed since your interview; there doesn't seem to be any rhyme or reason to it just yet.

Re: Vanderbilt Law School c/o 2020 Applicants (2016-2017)
I'm going to propose a different theory. Every e-mail you send to a law school after applying gets put in your file. Once they got around to "opening" your file to review it and then accept you, they noticed this e-mail no one had responded to and decided to respond before sending your acceptance.call-me-bubbles wrote:Thanks! I don't want to give you bad advice, but, honestly, I think e-mailing did help. I mean, maybe it was pure coincidence, but the day after I got a response from admissions, I got a decision. There are probably people out there who applied and forgot about it the next day, but if you're one of the applicants who's keeping tabs and double-checking to make sure the school has everything they need from you (assuming the status checker already says "complete"), I think that kind of active interest is probably appealing to the schools.studyingeveryday wrote:Congratulations!! If anyone else disagrees, please say so! Like I said, I don't want to give bad advice. But at least for this particular school, at this point in the process, if you've been waiting forever and have relatively good stats, I think a friendly, no-pressure, "Hi-there-just-wanted-to-make-sure-my-interviewer-submitted-their-evaluation-and-there's-nothing-else-I-need-to-do!" e-mail could be beneficial.

Does it matter that I'm too late to interview? I submitted recently. Normally, I should get in with my numbers
