Congrats to all the newly admitted! Make sure you fill out the sheet linked on the first post for data purposes!
I'm currently up trying to get my writing portions done. Set a deadline to submit apps by this evening and am definitely hoping to stick to it.

Does anyone think I shot myself in the foot in terms of scholarships by mentioning I plan to live at home to save money in my 'Why Michigan'? Having family in the area is honestly one of the more compelling reasons I have for wanting to attend. Reading it over now I'm paranoid it sounds like "don't give this girl any money!"

Very Personalized Email
On Thursday, I got a highly personalized email from a 3L at UMich Law. Same ethnicity as me, from my region (I live on the West Coast), and graduated with the same major. She mentioned all of this and gave me her direct contact info, said she's heard wonderful things about me and that Dean Z is a great judge of character, so she's "equally confident I'd be a good fit."
Is this normal/did anyone else get this? I know UMich admissions is unlike any other law school admissions. I also got the fee waiver email and snail mail packet that went out to a lot of folks. I'm right on the medians, for reference.

Got a similar email, wondering if this has anything to do with my chances. GPA <25% LSAT=75%chandhi wrote:On Thursday, I got a highly personalized email from a 3L at UMich Law. Got the same style of email for UVA. I think it's nothing special but it's a nice touch for sure. I also got one. Mine was actually a 2L who graduated from the same college as me and is a military brat like me. Don't know if that was the plan or just happened that way. Didn't say much about me (hadn't submitted my app yet or anything though) but told me some stuff about Mich and said I could contact her with any questions.premalone wrote:Got a similar email, wondering if this has anything to do with my chances. Have to say I've been really impressed with their outreach throughout the cycle.

Anyone who's received the UM package after being accepted - was there anything special there or same brochures and letter denoting a later scholarship determination as always?
