Congratulationss! That's a sort of public interest post-grad fellowship guarantee at BU, right? And some specialized mentoring and LRAP benefits? I'm getting all my PI scholarships mixed up at this point.

It's full tuition, 1L and 2L summer stipends, and a mentorship program

I'll be there! Planning on BU April 1st, and BC April 2nd. BU is my first choice but as of right now BC is offering me more $, so I'm going to visit both.

If we haven't been called for the PI scholarship, it's likely a "no," right?

That's what I've been thinking, but then I don't know why they wouldn't email with that info. Maybe now they are trying to figure out our non-PI scholarship and want to send both together?

I contacted them after others posted here regarding having been awarded the PI Scholarship to see when they would be sending out other merit offers. The response I got was " We have not been able to review your file because you applied for the Public Interest Scholarship and those decisions are in the process of being made now."

So it seems that possibly some but not all offers for PI have gone out. Either way, I am pretty sure we should hear soon about possible non-PI merit scholarships.

Got my email this morning. Didn't get the PI scholarship, but they offered $25,000 a year. Not bad!

My guess is sometime between March 1st and April 15th.

Does anyone know the difference between the need-based application on BU's website and what is on "Need Access"?
I filled out the application from BU's website and emailed it in along with my FASFA. But, I've heard a lot of people referring to the Need Access website. Am I missing something?

I hate to be the one to break the news, but here's what your weekend plans probably consist of now: http://www.needaccess.org/home.aspx
It's no fun, and a lot of schools require your parent's financial info

Ugh... if this is required, why is it not mentioned on BU's website? And what does Need Access report that my FASFA does not? Glad I'm finding this out Now and not After March 1st.

BU Law does not require the Need Access form. The law school is not an option on the Need Access site.

To be honest, I have no idea. I just saw BU on the list of participating schools (http://www.needaccess.org/Students/Part ... hools.aspx). I figured I had probably just overlooked something on the school's website, and already have to do it for other schools anyway.

Update: Gramps is right--when you actually try to select the schools within the application, BU isn't listed as an option. I'm not sure why the Need Access website shows the law school as a participating school, but that doesn't seem to be the case. FWIW these are the law schools I saw listed as options you can select within the applications: American, Columbia, Cornell, Duke, Georgetown, Northwestern, NYU, Oxford, Stanford, UC Davis, UCLA, Berkeley, Chicago, UMass-Dartmouth, Michigan, U New Mexico, Penn, UVA, Vanderbilt, Vermont LS, Villanova and Yale

Boston University, Boston College, and the University of Washington all list the Need Access Application as a requirement but the schools are no longer listed on the Need Access Application drop-down menu for the 2016-2017 academic year. My guess is they are no longer participating.

Also, if you are over 30 then parental information is no longer necessary for most schools. The schools that require parental information regardless of age are: Columbia, Cornell, Georgetown, Northwestern, and NYU. It seems you may petition each of these five schools to not require parental information.

I contacted BU Law with this exact question a month back. Other BU professional schools still require Need Access, but not the law school. So you're safe!

Seriously? What are you waiting for?

Now there's a charge.
Just kidding ... it's still FREE!
