Just checked my status... committee first read. What does it mean to be first or second read?

Basically that you're not done waiting.

I don't think it does. From what I've read in this thread it looks like you need to be REALLY outstanding to get the Rothman, like starting your own successful business and/or being a published writer. That seems like the next level to me. I'm just hoping for a merit scholarship based on my numbers since I wouldn't qualify for the Rothman anyway.

From what I've read in this thread it looks like you need to be REALLY outstanding to get the Rothman, like starting your own successful business and/or being a published writer. That seems like the next level to me. I'm just hoping for a merit scholarship based on my numbers since I wouldn't qualify for the Rothman anyway.

I think they use primarily numbers to invite ppl for Rothman (I got the invite and my numbers are above both 75th). Then invited ppl have to write an essay and upload resume to show off their non-numerical achievements lol.

I can see that. Especially considering there seems to be quite a few people that went complete way before me that either haven't or just barely went CR1.
