What are the criteria they use to invite people for the rothman? Hoping for a shot at scholarship money of not the rothman.

Re: USC c/o 2019 Applicants Thread (2015-2016)
I don't think it does. From what I've read in this thread it looks like you need to be REALLY outstanding to get the Rothman, like starting your own successful business and/or being a published writer. That seems like the next level to me. I'm just hoping for a merit scholarship based on my numbers since I wouldn't qualify for the Rothman anyway.nicola16 wrote:I was not invited for the Rothman and am hoping this doesn't lessen my chances for $$87mm wrote:What are the criteria they use to invite people for the rothman? I was invited, but I dont feel like I am as qualified as others by a long shot. I do appreciate the encouragement regardless. Sorry if I was confusing in my post.ProductofUnreality wrote:What I'm saying is don't lose hope for a scholly just because you haven't been invited to apply for the Rothman.87mm wrote:Yeah... I figure USC just hasn't gotten to my file for some reason. Hopefully I'll have some movement in the next week.

I think they use primarily numbers to invite ppl for Rothman (I got the invite and my numbers are above both 75th). Then invited ppl have to write an essay and upload resume to show off their non-numerical achievements lol.87mm wrote:What are the criteria they use to invite people for the rothman? I've resigned to the idea that it's just lottery based. It's the only way I can make sense of it all.

I can see that. Especially considering there seems to be quite a few people that went complete way before me that either haven't or just barely went CR1.ProductofUnreality wrote:Ditto!Lucyfur wrote:Still sitting at CR2 since 1/18Was hoping for a quick decision since CR1 was just a few days

"postal mail" was even in red.
