I think this is probably more of a general question (HIMYM fans, hope you're saluting) but how often do fee waivers go out? Is it an algorithm thing that just applies to accounts, or are they periodical? AKA how long until I just hit "apply" and bite the bullet?

If it helps, I got my first LSAT score on Thursday.

Email them politely asking if they offer merit based fee waivers. Include your gpa, lsat score and LSAC account number.

I did this Saturday and Michigan replied back today with a fee waiver.

This might've been answered already, but does anyone know if applying in early Jan/late Dec is too late to qualify for the Darrow?

Hey all, so I've been thinking recently about submitting an ED app to Mich. I have everything ready to meet the Nov. 15 deadline, but on the website it said you needed to be registered for the CAS by Oct. 10, but I registered on Oct. 13. Even if I submit the app by Nov. 15, does that mean I'm shut out from EDing?

I'd email them to find out for certain.

Logically, one would think they'd have no issue accepting it as long as you meet the November 15th guidelines.
I think I'm gonna go ahead and email them. Does anyone know if the law.jd.admissions@umich.edu is Dean Z's email, or should i just address it as To Whom it May Concern?

The people who received Darrows last year that I know of all applied before Christmas. I may have missed someone so you can always check the 2018 Michigan applicants thread (if you have time on your hands :D) and see if I am misremembering.

I'm a current student, so feel free to PM if you have any other questions.

Good question. Do we know if the status checker updates more than once a day? Or if it's on a schedule?
Updates once daily somewhere in the early morning hours (I think between 3 and 5am) and iirc it updates the day after a decision has been made.

How does Mich notify applicants of acceptances?

Current 2L. I got my acceptance via status checker first. A few days later I got a package in the mail. And a about a week after that I got an email. A few of my friend got a personal phone call from admissions initially.

So... status checker it is.

And your welcome for any additional

Question: did your status checker change twice that day? E.g. from complete to whatever it says if you're admitted.
i think so. from my understanding (from when I was a 0L), i think it is updated throughout the day (but that may be wrong). and for whatever it's worth, the only schools that the online status checker let me know that i got accepted/rejected ahead of any emails were Michigan and Cornell.

Michigan just tweeted that decisions won't go out until November.
