Look in the class of 2016 thread. I think someone detailed it out in there. I don't have time to look right now but if no one finds it I will search this weekend.bound wrote:Honestly I have no idea what the process is. Sorry to hear that. Complete 1/20 myself, so I guess I need to be more patient. It's just a little disheartening when you know you have the #'s and have poured your heart into a personal statement. I wonder if anyone who went complete before you is still waiting.cutieluby wrote:Pho king wrote:Nothing today. Anyone else?

Top 1/3 for Sumners. Other scholarships at SMU are good standing.PN-G bamakid wrote:Stipulation?ilikebaseball wrote:I was, but the stipulation....bound wrote:Anyone else apply for the Sumner's last week?

Re: SMU Dedman Law c/o 18 Applicants
Just got the scholarship reconsideration form. You can tell how little they budge just by the text on the form.... they basically say "SMU does NOT negotiate and does NOT reoffer based on other school's offers. But, if you wanna spend the time to make copies of your other offers, you can send them to us."

There's a scholarship reconsideration form? Is this something on the site or do you email them and ask? Can I just scan and email them another offer?

My date disappeared today, hopefully that means there is movement and a decision is coming soon (preferably accepted haha)... When baseballs status date disappeared it was still around 5 days to get a decision, so I am thinking within the week

Status checker reads "admitted" as of yesterday. No call, no email. Waiting on scholly info. They better be willing to play ball with offer GOOD offers in a down year. What is this I hear of a "scholarship reconsideration form"? Is this something formal from their site or just a personal inquiry?

They're not going to "play ball." They do have a reconsideration request form you can fill out, but according to administration I've asked about it they don't generally up anyone's offer. It obviously can't hurt to try, but don't expect much from it. Unless you're fortunate enough to get a Sumners, you're gonna have to stick with what they initially offer you.BasilHallward wrote:Status checker reads "admitted" as of yesterday. No call, no email. I am not wanting them to "up" any offers, just match offers from higher ranked schools. SMU is great, but expensive and stingy on scholarship, from what I hear.p1921 wrote:They're not going to "play ball." That's what I meant, don't plan on them matching anyone's offer from what I've heard here and experienced so far.BasilHallward wrote:I am not wanting them to "up" any offers, just match offers from higher ranked schools. I asked admissions if they had a matching or negotiating policy and they sent me a form to fill out and return.

They do not typically match, whether its a higher-ranked school or a lower-ranked one. However, they generally make a pretty good offer up front. Not sure where you heard they are stingy.BasilHallward wrote:I am not wanting them to "up" any offers, just match offers from higher ranked schools. Yeah, not negotiating ≠ stingy. They make what they feel is a good offer to star with (and they tend to be good) and then don't move. Think of it like the no-haggle car dealers. No "I'll have to check with my manager" BS.kalvano wrote:They do not typically match, whether its a higher-ranked school or a lower-ranked one.
