Do splitters ever manage law scholars awards? Not sure if I should bother with the application.arklaw13 wrote:Yeah if you don't complete the essays you'll only be considered for a regular award. Also, keep in mind that only 3 or 4 people get law scholars in any given year.

Probably not true splitters. I've seen median-ish GPA with 170+ LSAT get it, but no GPAs below median. Usually people who get it are above both 75ths. If you have above a 170 I'd say it's worth writing the extra application though.Irish11 wrote:Do splitters ever manage law scholars awards? Does anyone know about how to get travel aid/stipends to visit for admitted students? I can't make it to the admit days but plan on visiting on my own.

Decision mailed today. Went complete late December. Sent Merit Scholars last week. Over both 75ths. Should I be concerned about a WL?

FWIW I got in off the waitlist in August my year (2011) with a half scholly. I did not interview.Meursault wrote:Am I completely s.o.l. on scholarship money without an interview? Retook a 167 in December and was expecting Vandy wouldn't make sense financially with that, but got surprised with a 176.
GPA is 3.7x if that matters. Application would go out today.
Congrats to all the admits/ scholarships so far.
I just got an alumni interviewer email saying that they were starting to ramp up decisions and they would be informing a ton of people about scholarships in early march.

Check last year's thread. I think WL's starting coming out in Jan, but IIRC it was a bit later.Veronica2015 wrote:Decision mailed. Could be a wl/rej at this time?
edit: looked at least year's thread. It would be a tad early for WL's to be coming out.

Decided to apply after the deadline to schedule an interview. Is there anything I can do? How much will that affect my application?

Those were my numbers and I got it. Might as well give it a shot.limeo wrote:Is it worth doing law scholars app with GPA > 75th and LSAT at 75th? I don't know if I would be able to write strong responses for all of the questions.

FedEx Shipment Notification says "Weight: 5.00 lb". Does it mean good news?arklaw13 wrote:Check last year's thread. I think WL's starting coming out in Jan, but IIRC it was a bit later.Veronica2015 wrote:Decision mailed. Could be a wl/rej at this time?

I hate this FedEx Delivery Manager people keep talking about. My apartment complex uses a weird address system - StreetNumb-AptNumb Street - that the delivery manager won't recognize it. It recognizes and authenticates the normal address (StreetNumb Street AptNumb), but shows nothing coming. For those accepted, how quickly did the package arrive after the status checker changed?
