Just got this....

Now that it’s early July, as promised I wanted to send you another quick e-mail update on the waitlist situation at Georgetown. Our class is still currently oversubscribed, but these things do sometimes have a way of changing quickly. We’re monitoring the class on a daily basis and we’re still hopeful that we will be able to contact you with good news in the future.



While we hope that you can continue to stay with us on the waitlist, we understand if you need to make other plans. For our part, we promise to keep you up to date on what’s going on. As I mentioned before, our next upcoming deadline is July 28th when the tuition payment is due for the current entering class. We will give you another update by August 4th, if you haven’t heard from us before then.



If spaces do become available, the Committee will move quickly. They have asked me to ask you to let us know if you wish to remain in consideration and where Georgetown fits in with your plans at this point. Please respond to this email as soon as possible at admis@law.georgetown.edu.

I got this version as well. Did you notice the email address it was sent from? It's the first time I've received anything from that address.

I noticed the e-mail address, I received e-mails from the interview@law.georgetown.edu address when they contacted me after I was wait listed and asked me to interview and my exchanges regarding the wait list thereafter were from that. After the interview they asked me if I'd come if offered admission and I said yes but just got an e-mail saying they didn't have enough spots for people who expressed interest so they'd be in touch. After that I started receiving e-mails from the generic address again. Did you interview?

Got the email but with slightly different wording. Second paragraph is:

Not reading into this at all, though, since they had slightly different wordings in previous updates as well, and those didn't seem to be at all predictive.

Re: the email address - I was also previously invited to interview through that email address, but my last two updates were from the admis@ handle.

I just received this today. I'm going to withdraw. It would be much classier if their groupings were internal, and I should have left the day I discovered there was a preferred group within the preferred group. G-town is too much drama.

Honestly, considering my abysmal/train-wreck of an interview...I can't believe I made it this far. Thank you Georgetown! There was obviously somebody on the admissions staff that was pulling for me (so thanks to that gracious lady or gentleman). Good luck to everyone still on the waitlist, and good luck to all the admits!

Yeah, it looks like I'll be going to NYU. I'm very lucky to have been pulled from their waitlist (also, they were very drama-free about it haha).

I've been keeping other waitlist options open because there are places and circumstances that would have swayed me to go elsewhere, but I think I'm to the point where I can close other potential doors. I just emailed Georgetown to withdraw.

I feel pretty out of place actually. I never even had an "in review" period. I went from complete to the being on the regular waiting list. I didn't interview, and my numbers are pretty low. There's obviously something they like about me, and hopefully it's enough.

Didn't get an update, and was on PWL. I may just call tomorrow to see what the deal is- I've got to make a decision by the end of this week and need to know if I'm going to be made an offer.

I received the same email and I truthfully have no idea why! My cousin (with a great LSAT score and army experience) got rejected this week. I didn't interview, my LSAT score is average at best (to put it mildly), and I merely sent 1 LOCI. Just goes to show you really can't predict the outcome of law school apps!

Here's to hoping.

Stupid question.. but there's no chance I can defer my potential enrollment offer until I'm a 2L or expect any sort of scholarship/financial aid this late in the game, right?
