Re: UNC c/o 2017 (2013-2014)
Wait so did anyone decide if they are sending a LOCI before being WL? I'm confused, it says on the status checker that all ADMITS will be notified by April 1 - so at this point, are we holding out for a waitlist/rejection only?

same question. The language on the checker sounds like we are waiting for a WL or rejection and that all admits for now are done

Have you all considered asking UNC these questions? There is a chance that they will be able to clarify this issue...

Re: UNC c/o 2017 (2013-2014)
I saw in the UNC c/o 2015 thread that decisions during the month of April were generally being sent on Tuesdays to the status checker. My plan is to call Wednesday if no change the Tuesday after the first deposit (April 16th). I am personally deciding to wait it out this week and be as patient as possible.
Correction: I have decided not to call. I do not think they are taking too long to review me or that there is a mistake also I do not have any new information to share with them like a new LSAT score. I think it is best for me to just wait until May 1 to hear my results. Meanwhile I am excited about where I did get in and am moving forward putting down a seat deposit. I hope everyone ends up at a school they are happy with and can successfully develop into new lawyers!

Re: UNC c/o 2017 (2013-2014)
UNC's admissions "packet" came today and it is pretty pathetic. A business letter envelope with a stock admissions letter and an information sheet printed on...pink paper? I don't want to be shallow, but that's pretty damn pathetic. I expect a top law school to present like one, especially when it's asking that I potentially commit tens of thousands of dollars to it. My apartment complex has better presentation.

Called them today about confusing language on status checker and where everyone stands with the "complete" or "application complete" language. It wasn't a totally definitive answer, he just said some more would be accepted by May 1st (haven't given all offers) and "everyone" would know accept, WL/Deny by may 1st as well

"This means that we will have made our admissions offers to those who will not be waitlisted or denied by April 1" ...except for the admissions offers we make after April 1.alex22 wrote:Called them today about confusing language on status checker and where everyone stands with the "complete" or "application complete" language. Oh ok, that's not confusing or frustrating at all.
Has anybody had ANY movement since 4/1 rolled on by?

Hello guys,
There are some of us who are still in the queue who have either been waitlisted or have not received a decision, so if you have been accepted and you are 100% sure you will not attend UNC in the Fall, please do the right thing and withdraw. Thank you!

Just because they withdraw doesn't guarantee places open up, unfortunately.Julius Pepperwood wrote:Hello guys,

Re: UNC c/o 2017 (2013-2014)
I'm kind of disappointed with UNC. They only offered me a minimal scholarship. I've received a full ride from similarly ranked wake. I understand that they're a state school, but I've been offered twice as much from significantly higher ranked state school... Anyone else receive a similar offer?

i've noticed this same trend in private/state schools i applied too. full rides and decent scholarships at privates, nothing or very little at publics.Eaturgreenz wrote:I'm kind of disappointed with UNC. When is the UNC deposit deadline / does anyone have an idea when they'll be releasing their next round of admits?

I will be withdrawing soon so hopefully a spot and some scholarship will free up for you all. Got offered twice as much from a higher ranked school

Does anyone have any idea if/when UNC gives scholarship bumps? They made it very clear on the award email that they do not negotiate scholarships. Does that mean our award is set in stone or might they increase it after deposit dates?

Re: UNC c/o 2017 (2013-2014)
Sorry for the opinionated slip. I changed it, although I imagine the damage is done. I meant to say higher ranked (USN). I'm petty disillusioned with UNC after the whole application process.Baby_Got_Feuerbach wrote:Thanks for the "much better school" part.Eaturgreenz wrote:I will be withdrawing soon so hopefully a spot and some scholarship will free up for you all. Re: UNC c/o 2017 (2013-2014)
For those with 14k per year...cost of tuition would be around 40k total if you get in-state after your first year assuming residency doesn't impact your scholarship...that's not bad imo
Seriously? What are you waiting for?
