I didn't even consider that as an option. I am super antsy and want to hear back, so I would be tempted to, but I think I would fight the urge for a little while longer at least. The 6-8 weeks after my January 20th hasn't quite elapsed yet. I sent out 9 applications on the 20th and have only heard back from 3 so far, so I am going to continue (im)patiently waiting.Kuledj wrote:Think we should call?SeriousLehigh wrote:I also have yet to hear anything back from them, though I didn't get my application in until 2 weeks after you did.Kuledj wrote:Is anyone still waiting to hear back? Re: Fordham c/o 2017 Applicants (2013-2014 cycle)
Makes sense. For me, its been 9 weeks and I've heard back from the other 4 places I applied. I am scared to call though, just in case it could hurt me. The reason I'd be calling is to express my interest bc if I get in then I am going, but who knows if they will take it that waySeriousLehigh wrote:I didn't even consider that as an option. Thanks for this reassuring information!luuma wrote:They take a really, really, really, long time. This is known. The first time I applied, it had been over two months so I called and they reminded me it can take up to 12 weeks.... Finally when I did hear back, I found out I was WL'ed.

Didnt get any scholarship info, just an email saying I was accepted and will receive a formal letter soon. I applied, for PT, around Jan 10. GPA- 3.4 with a Masters in Tax. LSAT 164

Anyone know when I may hear about a possible scholarship? Would it be in the initial email or sometime later on? I have a full to Rutgers and 26K to Seton Hall, so I'm hoping that Fordham will, if not match, then give me something respectable

Fordham's words at an admitted students' day: you could go to law school for free someplace ranked in the 100s, or you can treat Fordham as an investment. Be nice when trying to negotiate. Don't use a school's higher rank to ask for more money.
I think they did a good job of managing expectations.

I received my scholarship e-mail a day or two after my acceptance e-mail, if that helps.Kuledj wrote:Anyone know when I may hear about a possible scholarship? I actually found it to be really unhelpful when they said that lol, like do they really not wanna know that I've got a legit other offer but wanna go there for the right price because I wanna work in NYC? I always planned on being polite about it, but it doesn't make sense to not tell them exactly what other offer has me hesitant on their current scholarship offerjac101689 wrote:Fordham's words at an admitted students' day: you could go to law school for free someplace ranked in the 100s, or you can treat Fordham as an investment. I think the message was "if you want us to cough up more, make the case that you love Fordham and the two of you are a perfect match."
They didn't even say don't use other schools; I think another message was that negotiating with them is a test of your diplomatic skills.

Well, unfortunately I was wait-listed. I just filled out their survey, however, I'd like to know about a LOCI. Does Fordham require a LOCI, or is that completely up to the applicant?

Not sure if its required but I think its strongly recommended.. I heard they start reviewing the wait list around this time? Anybody hear similar?LSX_Nut wrote:Well, unfortunately I was wait-listed. I heard the same, but info in a different thread suggested otherwise (June 3). Guess I gotta figure out what to include/how to structure this LOCI now. This blows. I was so happy to be done with the law school admissions process, but I was wrong. I could always go to Cardozo (with a decent scholly), but Fordham was always my #1 choice. Fingers crossed.kellyb4 wrote:LSX_Nut wrote:Well, unfortunately I was wait-listed. I just filed out their survey, however, I'd like to know about a LOCI. Same, so annoying.. Got 35k from Seton Hall and 14k from BC.. Still hoping I can get into Fordham before April 15th with maybe like a 7k scholarship but not sure if thats realisticLSX_Nut wrote:I heard the same, but info in a different thread suggested otherwise (June 3). Re: Fordham c/o 2017 Applicants (2013-2014 cycle)
For what it's worth, for those stressing about when they are going to here back (I am included in that group btw) it won't be as long as it has been for the people who applied earlier.
The deadline has passed, so new applications aren't coming in. Granted, their was probably a flood of late applications, but admissions officers don't have to worry about what applications might come next. It's all their for them. Also, most schools have April 15th to May 1st as first deposit day. Schools know that.
