For those who have been admitted with $$, what is your amount and what are your stips?

$24 per year/good standing. They are reviewing the scholarhsips they gave out to determine increases based on the December LSAT.

Someone else posted here that up to $30 per year is good standing, and above that it's top third.

I'm not sure about the appropriate way to go about that be careful of what you wish for..

If anyone is curious, I believe the scholarships work this way:

Sumner's (Full ride) - Top 1/3 requirement
35k - Top 1/3 requirement
30k - Good standing
24k - Good standing
Smaller scholarships

By the by, "good standing" means above a 2.0, which you would have to try to fall below.

That's a tough one. I want to work in Dallas after graduation, and my 0L optimism and naiveté make me think that my education and work experience would allow me to get an acceptable IP job from either school, so I would have happily gone to SMU had that been my only acceptance.

I'm going to UT mainly because of its better employment numbers, but I don't know how much of a premium I would have paid for UT had it come to that. Maybe $50-60k? There's no scientific basis for that number; it's more of the psychological effect that it's much closer to "a car payment for a car I'll never drive" than "a mortgage for a house I'll never live in".

Sounds almost exactly like me and what I want to do

I didn't end up finishing my app to SMU, but it would probably take a full ride for me to take SMU over UT. I want to end up in Dallas doing IP work, and I think either school would give me a good job. I like SMU, but didn't think it was worth the premium over UT since I probably wouldn't have gotten as good of an offer.

There's a distinction between the "electronic" application and the personal statement/resume/etc.

I was under the impression that all that stuff would also be submitted electronically, as part of the electronic application. (I haven't uploaded anything yet, so maybe it'd be clearer if I actually started putting my material on LSAC)Do we need to also mail in a paper application with all that stuff in paper or what? Or can everything be done electronically(I have a fee waiver)?

Everything can be done electronically after you upload your documents to LSAC.

Has a comparison of the PT and FT programs been submitted anywhere? I was admitted into the PT program, and am curious about any differences students have experienced...thoughts?

I'm working full time in Dallas, but would still like to enjoy all the social events/etc. offered for law students.

It took just over 3 weeks from submission to acceptance for me, so they can be quick about things in some cases.

The nice thing is that they include scholarship information with your acceptance packet, which comes a few days or a week after you're accepted.

And I can totally relate to you, I've looked at status checkers multiple times for schools I submitted to less than 24 hours ago.

Haha I received decisions so fast from some schools that now I expect everyone to be fast (stupid stupid thing to expect.)

Looking at last year's thread, it looks like some decisions went out the last week of January, so hopefully soon.

I like seeing movement in this thread, even if no decisions are released, because it doesn't feel like such a stand still waiting for decisions to come back. I wish some 3Ls or grads would come in here and do some Q&A.

Being that you're non traditional and not k-jd. Do you ever wish you did PT, instead of FT, and worked through it or was it worth it for you to take COA loans out? Also, did you get a decent amount in scholarships and did it factor into your decision?

Nope, FT for me. No regrets. An additional year of school would have sucked, and my job wasn't anything I enjoyed or could have done during school.

I got about a 60% scholarship, and sure it factored in. SMU is stupidly expensive, but they do give out a lot of money. I definitely would not have attended at full price.
