Maybe we'll be part of the scholarship offer wave tomorrow? I know it seems like an awful quick turnaround but with our long wait, it makes sense why they would go to us now.

From what I'm reading on the UC Davis Registrar Page http://registrar.ucdavis.edu/tuition/re ... ndence.cfm, it seems relatively "easy" to gain residency for 2L. Does anyone care to elaborate for us out-of-staters? Thanks!

I'm worried about this too. I was under the impression that it would be easy to get in-state tuition if I was financially independent for a year. However, scrolling down:

"the UC Residence policy requires that students who are under 24 years of age, whose parents do not support them or whose parents reside outside of California demonstrate their own financial independence and complete self-sufficiency for the two full years immediately prior to the term California residence is claimed."

So, as I understand it, if I claim financial independence now, I won't be able to become a resident until I'm a 3L.

It looks like a fairly easy process if you are over 24 though.

My need based estimate was an email, so I assume merit would be too. Myawards isn't up until April 1.

I don't think we, or anyone else, is actually getting merit aid. I heard of one person earlier in this thread getting $6k/yr. I definitely can't afford this being OOS, soooooo... come on Davis!

I got 15k/yr but I withdrew, so it's back in the pool.
