Check out law school numbers.... Unless they're holding back until later to spread the wealth, it's most likely they're just stingy. Furthermore, the practice of once-only scholarships is bizarre in comparison to any T1/T2 schools. There are many admitted students on this thread with 75 percentile stats and above that haven't been duly awarded.
Considering the cost of living in DC, American is shooting itself in the foot by not opening it's coffers. Unless of course they just don't have the endowment to do so, which is a sad but plausible explanation.
One thing that has been in the back of my mind is that their acceptance letter explicitly states that they typically award merit scholarships in March. I really wonder what their strategy is.
