I'm a 1L at Stanford and I've walked by Dean Deal's office multiple times over the past week. The lights have been out every time I've gone by. Unless she's working from home, I wouldn't expect much to happen until faculty returns on the 7th.sean21 wrote:Stanford Law tweet says they're closed until Jan 7. Checking in. App submitted today after Dec LSAT.
171/4.0. Really have no shot due to late application and 167 October LSAT score along with ordinary, non-cancer-curing softs, but you only live once so you do what you gotta do.
Couple questions...
1) What type of timetable are we seeing from submitted-->review-->decision? 2/3 months? For me, should I be expecting an answer in March/April?
2) Does SLS offer any merit aid?
3) For those admitted / denied, how were you informed of their decision? I'm still stranded from my apartment because of Sandy and USPS mail forwarding is spotty, at best.
Thank you all.

1) There is no decision. Faye Deal had a short blog post about it: "Fuck you guys, we're going to TJ." I can only assume that by "TJ" they meant "Tijuana."az21833 wrote:

2) I have no idea.
3) See answer to question 1.

Please read the threads you are posting in. Part of the answer to this question is at the top of this very page. Have some faith in the process, they will send you some sort of acknowledgement at some point in the future.az21833 wrote:wert3813 wrote:Checking in as well with identical numbers as this guy and as best I can tell from reading his posts similar softs (he and I have basically been living out Life of Brian the last 24 hours).az21833 wrote:Checking in. Hey everybody, I have a request.
If anyone here has used mylsn.info (LinkRemoved) and it has proven to tremendously aid you in the law school admissions process, please consider voting for LSATSCORES2012 in this poll. He is the creator of this tool and because of the degree to which it has aided me in my application process, I feel he should without a doubt be the winner of the tittle, "Most helpful poster" for 2012. If you agree with me, please vote for him too.
Thanks!

Prediction: blog post up by late morning (pacific time). Contents = "They made us stay away from the office this year. It was a nice break. Don't worry; I still chose to read over applications. I know we've kept you waiting. First batch of admits to come later today or starting tomorrow. Please reference [insert link to old blog posts here] to review how you should or should not respond should you be fortunate enough to receive the call. The end."

Seems doubtful that they're still out. Maybe they're just waiting a bit longer this cycle because of decreased applicant pool and yada yada.curious66 wrote:really. Maybe they are still out today?one_by_one wrote:Nothing at all, Stanford? Really?
I'm still hoping for that blog post, but I feel like my anxiety won't diminish once I see it.

I wish there were time stamps on when the previous posts when up so that we can see if they are first thing in the morning posts or later in the day... or is that just too obsessive?voytek wrote:Seems doubtful that they're still out. There was a comment in a post from a long time ago where someone asked when she was going to make her first phone calls.
I'd be the one to comment and ask that question on a blog entry this year, but I've already pretty much given up hope on my chances.

Is there anyone near Palo Alto that could just go into the office and ask what's up? Make sure to be really loud and sort of crazy. I hear they love that.shakespeare wrote:There was a comment in a post from a long time ago where someone asked when she was going to make her first phone calls.

maybe they are so disappointed with the applicant pool, they are just going to skip this year all together. There will be no class of 2016 -- Stanford sets the precedent.pedestrian wrote:Shall we convene an angry mob?

I live pretty close actually... but I am not quite ready to sacrifice myself for the group. If there is no movement by the end of the month, I'll think about it
