WTF? I guess they aren't making an effort to pry people away from NYC. Chi is completely off my radar now.

It's sad because I like Chi over CLS, but no money is a bit ridiculous.

Don't give up. Give em some time and let them know. I am sure some people w money will not end up enrolling.

I didn't get anything. Does anyone know when February admits found out last year? I don't really feel like combing through 100's of pages of threads right now.

15k total. That pretty much eliminates Chi for me unless they're willing to negotiate a lot. My GPA is way under their median the last few years so to be expected I suppose.

Wow. 90k. I mean I know my numbers are good but I really do feel like a run of the mill applicant beyond that. So incredibly honored. Pretty sure I'm going to be in Hyde Park next year.

Congrats to everyone else who got money and def a few wtf's out there. Jetissent I'm feeling you'll be first to get in off the HLS hold list to show chi what's good..

30k total (January admit). Quite pleased as that's about what I had expected with my numbers.

Just as an observation / question on the side: does getting 90k essentially mean more or less that they expect you to have options in HYS, and are trying to pry you away? Am I the only one so far who got 90k and is not in at HYS (at least not yet)?

edit: applied to schools in September

That may be their logic, but I am also not in at HYS.

So would it be worth telling them I got into HLS and asking for 90k? My initial offer was 60k, which does sound like a lot of money but doesn't reduce the cost of attendance compared to HLS significantly enough to make up for the advantages at HLS to my specific field of interest, location preference, etc...

It doesn't seem like you'd have anything to lose. The worst case scenario is that they tell you they can't offer you any more than 60k. Then you go to HLS.

I got 90k and am not in at HYS. Held at H and nothing from S or Y yet (although I applied late to Y so expecting a ding any day now).

Yea...I would totally see how much you can pull from them when you drop the H, if your financial situation is something that will be important to your decision-making process. If you get an initial no, you can wait until you get H's aid package and then ask again.

Sooo jealous. February admits.. any predictions on when we will hear? I thought the dean told some of you we'd be hearing back this week. :(

Anyone else who got 0 offered plan on writing them back? I am currently putting together a LOCI/diversity statement for Harvard, Columbia and Stanford and I am thinking I might adapt it to Uchi as well and politely ask them to reconsider. I feel like it can't hurt since I won't be attending without merit aid anyway... thoughts?

Worth a shot. If you won't attend without merit aid, tell them so!

I'm thinking about it, but I might hold off on sending something until later, when some people have already withdrawn from Chicago. I would assume some money will free up later in the cycle, so I'm waiting until then. Plus I might have an H or S acceptance to help leverage me.

Yeah that's what I was thinking. I am actually basically telling them I've already paid for a BA and an MA I can't finance a JD exclusively through loans. I feel like my numbers should have been competitive for something at least so hopefully the DS will convince them I can bring something else to the table.

I'll let you guys know how it goes in case any of the Feb admit people find yourselves in an similarly awkward place! :)

Seriously? What are you waiting for?
