Can anyone tell me where the "yellow form" is for financial aid?

On the ASW, hover over "Enrolling" and click "Financial Aid." If you scroll down it says Yellow Form available early February, but I definitely can't find it available yet anywhere.msblaw89 wrote:Can anyone tell me where the "yellow form" is for financial aid?

Re: In at GULC!
So the dates of the second one are 29th and 30th of march? that makes a lot of sense?
i mean, is there a reason to go if I have my mind set on GULC? or is it mainly to make up ur mind?

Re: In at GULC!
Honestly, if you're 100% sure you are going then I wouldn't bother. Especially since they don't even offer a travel subsidy. The whole point of the ASW is to sell you the school and get you to matriculate. Meeting people is cool but that's what orientation is for, and most of the people you meet at ASW you'll probably never see again. I guess the main reason I would go in your position is if you were considering living in the dorms and you wanted to check them outbroncos_fan_26 wrote:So the dates of the second one are 29th and 30th of march? that makes a lot of sense?

Re: In at GULC!
By the way, I was wondering if anyone that lives/visited the area has some suggestions on cheap hotels that aren't too crappy/in terrible bad parts of D.C.. Any help is appreciated.

That's what I figured... main thing is im a biker, so I wanted to figure out how much of a biker friendly city DC is, and based on that where i could live.Mr. Somebody wrote:Honestly, if you're 100% sure you are going then I wouldn't bother. I lived there for a bit and didn't find it biker friendly, but I don't think you need one especially if you're going to GULC.broncos_fan_26 wrote:That's what I figured... main thing is im a biker, so I wanted to figure out how much of a biker friendly city DC is, and based on that where i could live.Mr. Somebody wrote:Honestly, if you're 100% sure you are going then I wouldn't bother. Re: In at GULC!
My plan was to commute to work on bike, and live 7-9 miles away to make the commute manageable, but far enough that it cheapens the rent (i currently commute 14 miles a day each way to work, so i know its doable.)Mr. Somebody wrote:I lived there for a bit and didn't find it biker friendly, but I don't think you need one especially if you're going to GULC.broncos_fan_26 wrote:That's what I figured... main thing is im a biker, so I wanted to figure out how much of a biker friendly city DC is, and based on that where i could live.Mr. Somebody wrote:Honestly, if you're 100% sure you are going then I wouldn't bother. Re: In at GULC!
I would check out columbia heights or capitol hill. Easy bike commute to/from gulc and the rent can be substantially cheaper than the area right around the law center.broncos_fan_26 wrote:My plan was to commute to work on bike, and live 7-9 miles away to make the commute manageable, but far enough that it cheapens the rent (i currently commute 14 miles a day each way to work, so i know its doable.)
Not sure when the person who said dc is not bike friendly lived here, but the city has made substantial bike friendly improvements (more bike lanes, dc bike share is now the largest in the world i think?) and it seems pretty bike friendly to me. A lot of my friends bike to/from school.
if you're interested in biking, be sure to check out waba's website:
http://www.waba.org/
they have a lot of biking events around the city and lots of good information.

Re: In at GULC!
My husband and I lived in Columbia Heights (about 3.5 miles from campus) while he was in school at GULC, and he biked to class every day. It was faster than taking public transportation or even driving. DC is actually quite biker-friendly now and has put in a lot of new bike lanes in the past few years. It's totally do-able if you are used to biking in a city.Mr. Logged into the ASW today, got a pop-up message about my credentials: NetID and Go-Card number. It says I need to change the temporary password immediately, but when I try to do so I get an invalid credentials error. Did anyone else have the same issue?

Yes, you have to go through quite a situation emailing them with a form and your drivers license that you have to scan in (in color) but they were really helpful and fixed it for me.zylaxice wrote:Logged into the ASW today, got a pop-up message about my credentials: NetID and Go-Card number. Just RSVP'ed for the March open house. Hoping to get a Thursday evening flight and attend Friday's events. Why oh why does Georgetown's open house take up two workdays??
