She said substantively they are the same but that they are very different in how they feel. She said April elicits more pointed questions from students because people are closer to making a firm decision. However, my feeling is that March might have more of the "gunners"/early submitters and earlier admits as opposed to holds and WL'ers...in other words the people who might tend to be more motivated? So, I'm leaning toward March for that reason and also because I think it might work for my schedule more.
I am interested to hear what others' reasoning is for attending March vs. April.
I am going to April's ASW because I have a major work conflict in March... Not because I am a less motivated candidate (or, at least I hope not

).

Is Harvard really as gunnery as this site makes it out to be?
Not all gunners are douches though.
And Stanford will have no shortage of either as well.

THis question has been addressed in the "ask a harvard student" thread...basically, to summarize...HLS is typically more competitive than yale or SLS, but not drastically so...and certainly most gunners are friendly and would love to give you a helping hand (they arent asshole gunners basically)...so..that seems to be the consensus response from the current HLS students

Hey all. Long time lurker here and very excited to be apart of this thread now. I was accepted in late December and still haven't received my package in the mail. Does anyone know if under the "Mailings" it should say that an acceptance package has been sent?

Typically the mailings section will update, but mine didn't and still hasn't. I was accepted in early December (so a bit before the holidays) and received my packet shortly thereafter. Yours will probably arrive sometime soon.

Mine didn't update and I was worried that my packet wasn't sent. So I gave them a call and it turned out they already sent it 3 days ago (I mentioned my status checker wasn't updated)...I received the packet that afternoon and when I went back on, I saw my status checker had changed (they probably changed it after I told them about my status checker).
so they don't update those religiously...don't rely on them.

This is helpful, thanks! Now I'm going to bug my roommates by rushing to check the mail every day.
Any 12/22 KB2s get their package yet? I know some 12/20'ers and maybe even a 12/21er did, but I think 12/22s were the ones being sent in January.
On another note, I had a dream last night in which I found out that I didn't actually get in. It was one of those really convincing dreams where you wake up thinking it was real. Sigh.

I called Harvard yesterday and they said that the 12/22 KB2 packages were sent out on January 4th. Keep your eyes peeled.

LONGGG time TLS lurker in general... and cannot cannot believe my first post is checking in here!
Got my KB2 on Monday. I'm overseas right now so every time I saw a call from the U.S. I did a small double-take.

hmm, that's weird. I'm a Harvard undergrad (12/22 KB2) and put my dorm address as the current address, but I haven't received the package yet. I can't imagine USPS taking more than a week to deliver a package less than 1/2 mile. Perhaps USPS lost it?

Tell me about it. I go to status checker every day and make sure it still reads "admitted."

I think this is one of the reasons why I am so impatiently waiting to get my packet in the mail. I think that will make it feel much more real
Come on USPS!

I never had my status checker show that. Got my packet right before Christmas.

Doesn't show that status. The last status on my status checker is "Email - Interview Scheduled."

Mine shows "admissions binder sent" - 1/9/2011.
I got in on 1/6 though.

Ugh...I can't find my login for HLS, so I have no idea what my status says. I have complicated address situation so I'm little worried that that's why I haven't gotten my admissions packet yet :\
did everyone get their logins via e-mail? Or through LSAC?
Seriously? What are you waiting for?
Now there's a charge.
Just kidding ... it's still FREE!
