Might be dumb but I had a question about the financial aid. Do I have to apply and fill out the FAFSA to be considered for a merit scholarship? Probably a noob question on this board, but I just wanted to verify. I was admitted about a month ago and it said they do merit scholarships on a rolling basis starting mid-Feb, but I got an email saying to be considered for any financial aid I have to fill out the Hastings fin aid form and FAFSA. Thanks!

Just called the financial aid office actually, you don't need to fill out fafsa for merit aid, everyone is considered for it, for need based aid you do need to fill out fafsa as well as a uc hastings supplement. The person I talked to said that they were still making decisions about merit awards and were planning on sending notices out in the next couple of weeks.

are you guys getting acceptance/rejections just by email?

my app has been complete since early dec (confirmation via email) and nothing since.

Yah my ding was via e-mail.

Edit: I think acceptances were varied between e-mail and snail mail, though.

I got my acceptance by phone call in the afternoon yesterday...I hope it wasn't a prank call

Edit: Nevermind, I scrolled up and other admits got in by phone call too, so look out for a 415 number! Good luck!

I got the acceptance letter in the mail and a phone call later in the afternoon. I think they try to contact you by phone first.

I went complete 1/6 and got the call on 2/17. Stats in profile

@onedavetoomany, thanks for letting me know. my numbers are low for hastings maybe that's why it is taking too long. I dunno. hopefully i'll get a response soon.

Does anyone know the username and password for admitted students? I got accepted via phone and she said I should be receiving my packet in 2 weeks! I'm planning to attend the open house on March 24th or March 31st so I need to make travel arrangements from now, it would be great if someone could help me, thanks!
