I'm at 3.6, 160 and still haven't been under review. Who knows why. I think it might be my pending LSAT score but who knows.legalgirly wrote:FSU Law 25th Percentile LSAT 161 and belowlegalgirly wrote:That is not exactly true...I'm within the 25th percentile and already went in review. GPA 3.30 and below.
Why would they review an applicant below those numbers before an applicant above those numbers?
I was under the impression that the higher the numbers the stronger the applicant.

Re: FSU c/o 2015 applicants
I am genuinely not trying to be an ass, but I still have no idea what you are talking about, and I am trying to reason through your post. You can not be "within" a percentile. You can be at a percentile (i.e. at the 25th percentile, meaning you have a 161), or you can be within a range of two percentiles (i.e. a 162 is within FSU's middle 50 percent, within its 25th to 75th percentiles). If you are at the 25th percentile, you scored higher than 25% of their newest class. You can be "within" the bottom 25 PERCENT of a class. Is that what you mean here?legalgirly wrote:FSU Law 25th Percentile LSAT 161 and belowlegalgirly wrote:That is not exactly true...I'm within the 25th percentile and already went in review. I can't explain why a 160 3.6 hasn't gone into review yet though. That is odd. Your LSAT explanation makes sense.

I don't know .. I'm a 161 and a 3.7 (or sooo close) and I was accepted a week after I applied at the beginning of January. I know I have good LOR's, but how would they know that?

just my two cents, i know the school says they review in order of strengths, but they must have a batching process or they'd wait until their deadline to start reviewing to make sure strengths play in...i think they'd do everyone from october in order of strength, then november and so forth, hence why some have replies and others don't

I was admitted about 2 weeks ago after being complete for over 3 months; so don't freak out if you have been complete for awhile it will be ok. Also I was median on both numbers and was wandering if you guys think there is a chance at any money? I live in Tallahassee already so even a $1000 would be nice. I missed ASD due to prior commitments, how was it? Will definately be going to FSU Law.

lol and thus ended the saga of Seminole2011. They said at ASD though that as people withdaw, more money may become available and that merit scholarships are given on a rolling basis.seminole2011 wrote:I was admitted about 2 weeks ago after being complete for over 3 months; so don't freak out if you have been complete for awhile it will be ok. So where is everyone looking to live? Any suggested areas, apartment complexes, neighborhoods? My wife and I are going to Tallahassee in the next few weeks to start scoping out the area.

My wife is from tally. Most of the town is quite nice, however there are some areas to avoid. If you look in the c/o 2014 fsu thread, there is a map of good areas to look. This map is spot on.

Since you have a wife, I'm assuming you'd like to stay away from campus/undergrad areas. I'd definitely look east of campus if I were you. There are several really nice communities that direction, and it's mostly younger couples or grad students.berto24 wrote:So where is everyone looking to live? The east side of Tally is very nice but it is also outrageously expensive. Depending on where you are moving from the price range can be a bit of a sticker shock; especially since the pay scale in Tallahassee is terrible and well below national averages. Everything in Tally is expensive and there is not much to do besides going out to resturants/bars. Lived in Tally 6 years and my fiancee grew up here, nice town but really full of its self.

From speaking to the financial aid representative at Admitted Students Day it sounded as the next round of scholarships would be distrubuted on/around March 15th, once they recieved all the Merit-Based application forms back.
From speaking to them, those of us who haven't recieved a Merit-Based application there is still hope and they will probably send another batch of applications after March 15th.

Went under review at 10AM. Decision made, will arrive by mail at 3PM.
I'm screwed, aren't I? Isn't there supposed to be a call if you're accepted?

OH no, that's sad! Oh well - easy solution: get off the WL at Washington & Lee, attend the school where all the cool kids go!noleknight16 wrote:Went under review at 10AM. Decision made, will arrive by mail at 3PM.

Ehh, no. Actually it was about a 10-20 minute difference. My status checker changed to "Decision made" and I freaked out and came on this thread and actually missed my call. So there is a bit of a lag, so good luck!

Fingers crossed for a good Feb LSAT and getting off the W&L waitlist.

In with a phone call. I applied insanely late and they accepted me quickly. Somewhat surprised honestly. FSU is a real contender now.

Lol, funny you should say that...I am basically trying to decide between FSU and W and L (25k scholly) and I am quite worried I'm not cool enough.jaysgirl42671 wrote:OH no, that's sad! If you sent in your merit form application to FSU prior to March 1 you should hear back before March 15.
I really like FSU and I am leaning in that direction (could change after visiting W and L). Good luck to those sweating scholarship offers (I get nervous thinking about it, lol).

Ha, I'm definitely not cool. In fact, I'm quite awkward but tend to think I'm funny.Ant1her0 wrote:Lol, funny you should say that...I am basically trying to decide between FSU and W and L (25k scholly) and I am quite worried I'm not cool enough.jaysgirl42671 wrote:OH no, that's sad! Is W and L cheaper than FSU at sticker for you now? I don't know if you are a FL resident or not (I haven't read through the entire thread, so sorry if I missed it).jaysgirl42671 wrote:Ha, I'm definitely not cool. I recieved an application for a need based scholarship but nothing yet on merit based. Do they normally come together?
