Re: Georgia State University c/o 2015 (2011-2012 cycle)
Question about Paws: did anyone who had access to their financial aid info lose access today? I went to check award information to see if anything had changed (neurotic, I know) and all of the sudden I don't have permission to access that area of my paws anymore (it extended to anything awards: award by year, etc. under the financial aid section of the one stop shop of paws).
Could this mean that updates are happening, that scholarships are being offered? Or what?
I dunno.
Is anyone else now unable to access and view their financial info. in Paws where previously they could?

That happened to me yesterday and I haven't checked since. It would make sense, but they said scholarships will be out in April didn't they?Ga0-3L wrote:Question about Paws: did anyone who had access to their financial aid info lose access today? They said "by April 1st" to me... about ALS. But some other chick said she heard Apr. 15th or some such...kroakstool wrote:That happened to me yesterday and I haven't checked since. My PAWS main page says:
System Downtime
Please be advised that Internet Native Banner (INB) and GoSOLAR will be unavailable ALL DAY starting at 12:01 AM Friday, March 9th through Sunday, March 11th due to yearly system maintenance. During this period, some links and channels related to student account information (e.g. - items on the One Stop Shop tab) will not function or display properly.
The system should again be available on Monday March 12th at 12:01 AM.
We apologize in advance for any inconvenience.
So we can all look on Monday and see if there's any updates.

On another note, I think I may have found a place up near buckhead. Fingers crossed I get it. Thank you to everyone who helped me!
Oh, and I bet the system maintenance is to fix the "known issue" with internet browsers. That has been on the main page for a few weeks.

Ga State Law outranked UGA Law and closed in on Emory for 2011's "Go-To" Law Schools of the NLJ 250 firms.

This with the price for value (currently #1 value in the country) makes GA State Law a great option for law school..
Pretty cool, GA State... pretty cool.

I didn't get an email, but I didn't apply![]()
Did it come to your regular email or GSU? I wonder if that means you've made the first cut, or if it means that they are just starting to review applications? Weren't those due way back in February or something?
Yea they were due midFeb. I think, because when I got my acceptance packet with the letter for ALS I had the flu and I remember thinking I needed to get it mailed right away so that it could get there b/c I was too sick to go drop it off.
It sounds like a first round kind of thing I dunno.. but I emailed the lady who sent it with questions so hopefully we will all know more about ALS soon.

was the reply. I asked about what the fellowship entailed, and what is looked for in a candidate... so pretty much the same info. we already had. But I guess that means there really isn't anything else to it?"The Atlanta Law School Fellowship is a need and merit based scholarship, if awarded recipients must stay in good standing to have their scholarship renewed. Good Standing at Georgia State University College of Law is a 2.2 GPA," Denienne Steele

Hey guys, I am currently a 1L at Georgia State and I can attest to the fact that it is a great program. I am around the middle of the class ranking wise, and I already have a job lined up for the summer paying $1000 a week. Our new numbers are about to come out, and we should see a jump in rankings (our class had the best numbers so far). All the big ATL firms interview here, and the cost is impossible to beat. I hope everyone considers matriculation in the Fall, and good luck with law school applications, it is stressful, albeit not nearly as much as law school itself (I am either studying or in class about 80 hours per week)
Cheers!

Thanks for reassuring us! I hope you're right about the rankings jump! I have a nice scholly in my current state at a much better ranked school. I don't want to live here though; so, a nice bump would cleanse me of second guesses. Do most people have jobs lined up like you for the summer already?panicunited wrote:Hey guys, I am currently a 1L at Georgia State and I can attest to the fact that it is a great program.
