For EA, the application says to submit by Nov. 1, but it also says that any applications complete by Nov. 15th will be automatically considered EA. Does this mean that if my file goes complete by then, I would still be an EA applicant even though I just submitted today?

Seems like it? Maybe the Nov 1st is just the guarantee deadline.

Yeah, I noticed this too. "Please note, any application complete as of November 15, 2011, will be considered for our early action process." I got a fee waiver in the mail yesterday, so I just applied this morning. I marked RD on my app because I figured they would think I was dumb for marking EA when it says right above it that your app must be submitted by Nov. 1. Hopefully if I go complete by the 15th, though, they'll put me in the EA pool! Otherwise, I guess we just wait.curiousgeorgia wrote:For EA, the application says to submit by Nov. 1, but it also says that any applications complete by Nov. 15th will be automatically considered EA. I might be calling them in a few days if my application does not go complete. I submitted the night of October 31st, so they better complete my app by Nov. 15th.

Just as a reference I submitted mine close to midnight on Oct 30th and it was complete on Nov 3rd. You should be hearing back soon

Nah. All three of us submitted the night of Oct 31st and none of us have anything other than the app fee box checked. That says to me it's just part of the process.Schang1 wrote:Me too! I think if Nov. 12th rolls around and my status is still the same, I might call. I also have to call about a pending 3rd LOR which I might tell them to disregard if waiting for it causes me to lose EA status.UnamSanctam wrote:Nah. My DS block is checked. I do not remember a word count for Cornell. Only school I remember having to chop my DS down for was GW.

I just called -- and the lady told me that they currently have 250 pending EA apps that they need to go through -- so as long it says that they received your app by Nov 2nd, then you are fine. They said it took them till December to notify people via e-mail that their apps were complete and are hoping that it wouldn't take them that long this year but she said that we were fine.

Good news for everyone ITT. I wouldn't anticipate any status checker movement for at least two weeks.Schang1 wrote:I just called -- and the lady told me that they currently have 250 pending EA apps that they need to go through -- so as long it says that they received your app by Nov 2nd, then you are fine.
