I agree. I got my admissions packet in the mail which really had nothing of note inside. Is anyone going to the open house on March 25?don_geis wrote:Any updates? Things seem quiet around here.

I'm planning on coming from Chicago to attend, really exited to check out the campus and surrounding area.

I believe someone posted that they got an email stating that they were waitlisted, however, I could be mistaken. I haven't heard anything regarding rejections.RAB wrote:does anyone if for wait-lists and rejections if those are updated on the status checker sent via e-mail or those only sent snail mail and acceptances via e-mail?

I got deferred today, not really bummed because I wasn't planning on attending. Can anybody tell me what the difference between getting differed and waitlisted is?

Just got accepted this afternoon via email! I'm so excited! I was really nervous they wouldn't accept me even though I love Newark (I'm in the minority but eh, whatever) Now I have to figure out which events or whatever I can attend.

Simon, would you mind sharing your stats? When did you apply? Did you apply full or part-time?

Not at all:RAB wrote:Simon, would you mind sharing your stats? When did you apply? Did you apply full or part-time?
I applied early January, went complete 1/10 I believe. I applied full-time. My stats are 3.0/160.

Sorry to hear that =/ I've been waitlisted / deferred to several schools as well. I would send in another letter of recommendation or statement of interest if you really want this school.

Anyone going to any of the events for admitted students? I'm thinking of sitting in on the criminal law class and group meeting to learn more about everything and debating whether or not the open house would be worth going to (and taking off work for) or if there will be a lot of overlap.

Are you sure it's a criminal law class? Crim law might be offered in the evenings for part time students, but 1L's take it during the fall. I would make sure you see a 1L course even if it's not the one being offered (don't know why they would schedule an upperclass course for pros. students). 1L's take Civ Pro, Con Law and an elective in the spring. A good portion of upperclass courses are not conducted the same way 1L courses are.simonmulletxcore wrote:Anyone going to any of the events for admitted students? I'm actually really surprised that's all they offer. I attended a civ pro class after I was admitted. I guess just as an fyi con law professors tend not to cold-call. What you'll most likely see are students volunteering with 2-5 people dominating the conversation. Again, not your typical 1L core class. If you can get there early and see civ pro that will give you more of a sense of what your fall would be like x 4. I'm not certain about the Crim Law class, but chances are it's a much smaller and more intimate atmosphere than day students' version. I'd also try to talk to as many random students as possible in the hallways. Rutgers students tend to be pretty honest about the school's strengths and weaknesses than perhaps the tour guide.NJPharmD2011 wrote:Small group meetings & Toursget it to x wrote:Are you sure it's a criminal law class?
