$15 myself....still, 15k isn't too shabby for a good law school. if we got large schollies to the supposed most selective school in the 20s, does this suggest we are good at t-14 at sticker?
there goes, bumming out on virginia beach, beach bum.

Got my packet today- $10,000/year, OOS tuition. If this is the difference between OOS and IS, then if I qualify for IS after a year do I pay half price, or do I only receive the scholarship if I pay OOS prices? I want to ask here before I call the admin office- I don't want to sound ungrateful for the offer. Any thoughts?

Got mine today too. Grad fellowship...it says that in order to continue to qualify I have to maintain out of state statusasuusa wrote:Got my packet today- $10,000/year, OOS tuition. Re: William & Mary 2011
Could you please let us know what you find out? I'm confused as well. Same $ given except separate $7k rather than $10k for me (and I'm from WI not MN...how about them Packers?vegenator wrote:I received my offer in the mail today, too (I'm in MN, fwiw) I got the Graduate Fellowship (with $4000 stipend) and a seperate renewable 10k/yr scholarship. I'm stoked about the offer and opportunity to do research as a 2L & 3L, but I'm also a bit confused as to what the offer amount actually is.adammac17 wrote:I got this fellowship as well but im a bit confused about what exactly the total amount is. You get instate tuition, which is equivalent to 13k a year and then get paid 4k a year for working right?swimmergirl1303 wrote:In with the Graduate Fellowship (13k) & 4k stipend + in-state tuition (I'm out of state).
The difference in instate and out of state tuition in 2010-2011 is only 10k (23,800 vs 33,800), so I'm not sure that the difference between next year's resident and non-resident tuition would spike up to 13,000 (the amount it sounds like in the letter). So I guess I'm not sure if it should be interpreted as: We're waiving out of state tuition (a $13,000 value) and you'll earn a $4,000 stipend OR we're waiving your out of state tuition ($10k value for the 2010-2011 year), plus giving you 13K fellowship, plus you'll earn a 4k stipend.
I guess I'll probably call them tomorrow or shoot them up an email to clarify. Confused as I am, I'm suuuuuuuuuuuper happy with my offer nonetheless.

benny and vegen - after looking at your numbers it's probably in state + 4k/yr + additional 8/10k scholarship. at least i'm hoping for your sake that it is!

That's what I was thinking, but I wrote up an email to inquire/confirm anyway. I'll post the result when I hear back.brose wrote:benny and vegen - after looking at your numbers it's probably in state + 4k/yr + additional 8/10k scholarship. at least i'm hoping for your sake that it is!
As for the Vikings/packers spectacle (I was forced to watch the vikes lose to gb back in October while working out at the gym) but didn't see their most recent loss. Gotta admit (despite my Midwestern heritage), I'm not a football fan

Re: William & Mary 2011
Wow. Props to the folks at William and Mary on email response time
For all of you with the Graduate Fellowships, or even just wondering about them here's what I found out.
The difference between instate and out-of-state tuition next year will be $9,000 (it is currently $10,000). So the total value for the Graduate Fellowship ($13,000) is the $9,000 which will be deducted from out tuition (thus giving us the instate rate) and the $4,000 which will be paid out to us over the nine-month academic year as the stipend.
Then if we received any further scholarships, that additional amount will be deducted from our (in-state) tuition. So Benny's looking at in-state minus 7k & a 4k stipend, and I'm looking at in-state minus 10k, plus 4k stipend.
PM me if you'd like a copy of the email. Hope this helps clarify!

A much less exciting question. How long did it take to receive a status checker e-mail after you applied?
I'm a little late to the game (applied on Friday) and I haven't received a status checker email yet.

I don't remember; but my advice would be don't worry about the status checker. If you read up thread a bit you'll understand why. We were all super frustrated by blank or confusing statuses. (Up until it said we were in anyway.)thelaststraw05 wrote:A much less exciting question. How long did it take to receive a status checker e-mail after you applied?

Yeah, I read the thread and saw that. But getting a status checker at least confirms that they got SOMETHING.Capitol A wrote:I don't remember; but my advice would be don't worry about the status checker. I submitted on 8/29. Got my status checker email on 9/1. Of course they are likely a little busier now than they were then. Good luck!thelaststraw05 wrote:Yeah, I read the thread and saw that.
